We have also received certification by The Joint Commission in collaboration with the American Stroke Association as a Primary Stroke Center **The role you’ll contribute:** The EMS Specialist, which will report to the Physician Relations Team with local reporting to the hospital ER Director is responsible for key tactical and operational enhancements for EMS services. The position will concentrate efforts to ensure overall EMS satisfaction at AdventHealth Ocala. In order to maximize growth opportunities, the position will be filled by an experienced paramedic that is familiar with both cultural and operational needs of EMS leadership and crews. **The value you’ll bring to the team:** · Responsible for planning and implementing visits to EMS stations, meeting with paramedics/EMT’s and working with Emergency Room staff to grow EMS runs. · Maintain a minimum number of visits with EMS crews on a weekly basis. · Directly coordinate strategic efforts with Regional EMS Steering Committee and ER Director to ensure division and hospital goals are being met. · Provide ongoing clinical and operations feedback to EMS crews (i.e. STEMI and comprehensive stroke process review) and daily communication with fire stations and EMS crews · Focus on ensuring offload times are in line with hospital and EMS goals · Report on the activity level and outcomes of visits on a regular basis with leadership. · Conducts clinically relevant EMS training, such as physician lead stroke care education · Work with operations to resolve issues with efficiency, quality, service, or other concerns. Will document issues, participate in resolution and communicate updates to stakeholders. · Provide intelligence to appropriate hospital departments for process improvements requested or suggested by EMS/paramedics or other stakeholders. Qualifications **The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed:** · Associate in Science in Emergency Medical Services or equivalent · Bachelor’s or equivalent combination of education and experience · Minimum of two years of related experience (nursing, paramedic, business-related field) · Valid Florida driver’s license and proof of automobile insurance to include liability and property damage coverage This facility is an equal opportunity employer and complies with federal, state and local anti-discrimination laws, regulations and ordinances.
