EMT - Emergency Services - FT - Days

Interviews patient for information necessary for pre-registration.
Inputs information and obtains patient ID bracelet.Identifies acute injury or illness that poses an immediate risk to a person's life or long-term health. Performs vital sign checks as needed. Assesses patients in the waiting room as necessary.Determines nature and extent of illness or injury and patient's history from available sources. Administers emergency medical care within scope of practice, including patient stabilization, monitoring, and resuscitation.Contacts medical personnel, reports/records observations, and follows directives from supervising Physician or Registered Nurse.Interviews patients and/or caregivers to collect information regarding current home medicationsUtilizes appropriate equipment/accessories to collect information from outside sources (physician offices, retail pharmacies, family members) regarding home medications.Contacts and communicates with other care providers (pharmacists, nurses, physicians, etc.) to facilitate the processing of home medication information.Processes medication orders under the direct supervision of a pharmacist, taking the age, weight and gender of the patient into account. Obvious irregularities (consistent with expected medication knowledge) are called to the attention of the pharmacist.
Minimum Education
High School diploma or equivalent required.
Minimum Work Experience
One year experience as an EMT1 required.Required Skills
Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.Required Licenses
[North Carolina, United States] EMT
EMT1 licensure or above required.
American Heart Association (AHA) BLS required
