EMT Event Specialist I
Event Medicine Specialist I provide on-site medical care during mass gathering events (e.g., sporting events, concerts, or other recreational gatherings). Event Medicine Specialist I work with a multidisciplinary team of professionals to coordinate the response to illness and injury for event spectators and participants.

Provides direct patient care at the BLS level in accordance with Medical Transport Network guidelines and regional EMS Council protocols.Documents patient condition and all treatment provided while maintaining patient confidentiality.Interfaces effectively with peers and customers and assumes responsibility for professional development of self and others per department policy.Ensures that assigned vehicles are cleaned and restocked after each event or patient transport.Maintains safety as a primary responsibility throughout all aspects of care and transportation.Reports any safety hazards to the Event Supervisor or EMS Field Ops Supervisor as soon as possible.Maintains necessary certifications, skills, required continuing education, and mandatory in services.In addition to the above job responsibilities, other duties may be assigned.Position Compensation Range: $15.00 - $25.00 Hourly

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Education: High School Graduate or Equivalent.
Experience: One year of BLS-level experience as a released attendant-in-charge.
Licensure: Virginia Department of Health Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) or Advanced EMT (AEMT) certification. American Heart Association (AHA) Health Care Provider Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. Unrestricted Valid Driver’s License. Emergency Vehicle Operators Course (EVOC) Class II or higher.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS


Job requires standing for prolonged periods, frequently bending/stooping/traveling, climbing (ladder, steps), and driving. Proficient communicative, auditory and visual skills; Attention to detail and ability to write legibly; Ability to lift/push/pull > 100lbs. May be exposed to fumes, chemicals, vibrations, humidity, cold, heat, noise, outdoor climate, blood/body fluids and infectious disease.
