JOB DESCRIPTION:
This position emphasis is Applications End to End Monitoring as it pertains to synthetic monitoring, APM monitoring, Event Correlation and performance metric analysis. The candidate will be working on two projects as described below:
First Project: Implement a Thick Client/Citrix based E2E performance monitoring solution and configure a subset of applications in that as well as existing solutions (Web based, Internal Synthetic, External Synthetic)Second Project: The other is to implement an Event Correlation product that will collect alerts from our Infrastructure monitoring systems as well as the E2E app monitoring systems.We are looking to utilize the contract resources on these two projects and steady state support for our Monitoring Process Team that works with our application groups on defining monitoring solutions and assisting with implementations.
Relevant Skills:
· Use communication and process skills to understand application and infrastructure architecture, application workflow, key transactions and guide the customer through key monitoring capabilities that best match their needs.
· Deliver application quality performance using the customer view of performance (end user experience) coupled with advanced event and performance monitoring technology.
· Expert knowledge interfacing with the Business Customer and Applications Support teams for application profiling and underlying architecture (technology stack, workflow, etc.).
· Ability to interface with the Application user via UCD principles for obtaining key transactions to monitor.
· Ability to conceptually grasp an applications process flow and architecture without direct access to source code.
· Expert knowledge in one or more tools used for cross tower application and infrastructure monitoring (e.g., AppDynamics, Netscout nGeniusOne).
· Windows server skills, ability to modify the install scripts, test Windows agents in the lab, modify power shell scripts, etc. is a plus.
· Experience building monitoring dashboards based on application and infrastructure tower monitoring data feeds.
· Experience determining baselines and implementing alert conditions.
· Experience analyzing transaction and infrastructure metrics to identify application degradation causes.
