We have an immediate opening for a part-time/weekend Endocrine Laboratory Technician in our busy Rockville, MD Endocrine Laboratory. The schedule is every other Saturday and Sunday from 7:30 am until end of shift (typically around 3 pm).

How You'll Contribute:

We always do whatever it takes, even if it isn’t specifically our “job.” In general, the Endocrine Lab Technician is responsible for: 

Performs quality controls, calibration and instrument preventive maintenance checks at the required frequency and documents such actions. Checks and records daily temperature of refrigerators to ensure proper storage of media reagents. Monitors supply of reagents and other material to ensure adequate supply at all times and orders supplies when necessary. Take appropriate safety precautions for handling specimen and contaminated areas. Performs all clerical tasks associated with recording laboratory results in designated areas and filing. Provide a turnaround time to the physicians approximate two hour request from the  time specimens are received. Reliability: It is an essential function of this position to report to work on time for your scheduled hours, ready for work.

What You'll Bring:

The skills and education we need are:

Minimum of one year laboratory experience Experience in a chemistry analyzer strongly preferred Bachelors' degree in biology science or related field; MLT ASCP certification or equivalent Ability to troubleshoot assays and equipment
