Endoscopy Assistant II (SEIU), Boston/Kenmore, Full Time

SUMMARY

Under general supervision performs tasks such as assisting in room preparation and turnover, maintenance of a sterile environment, and assisting the clinicians with minor operative and surgical procedures in the Endoscopy Department. Provides general Endoscopy Assistant support for pre and post procedural office visits including advanced level support tasks. Provides direct clinical and clerical support to the medical and surgical specialty clinicians (and other procedural departments).

EDUCATION/LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS

High School diploma or equivalency certificate (e.g., GED, HiSET, TASC Test) from an accredited institution or governmental unit required. Associates degree in medical assisting or graduate of certificate program preferred. Requires CPR licensure. American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) strongly preferred. Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) may be required based on specialty.

EXPERIENCE

Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a clinical setting required. Previous experience in a job requiring the ability to multi-task and prioritize activities preferred.

SKILLS

Able to communicate in a professional and appropriate manner. Strong interpersonal,customer service, time management, and organizational skills required. Ability to be a quick thinkerand relate to all levels of staff and patients highly important. Ability to prioritize work throughoutthe day in a busy environment.
