Endoscopy Summer Clinical Intern

The Endoscopy Summer Internship would have the intern assist with outpatient Endoscopy patient flow in prep and recovery, as well as set up and observation in the procedure room.  This summer intern would be working with Endoscopy nurses and techs as well as GI/CRS physicians. Additionally, the intern would assist in the development and implementation of an Endoscopy specific quality audit. The specific skillsets that is important for this role include professional verbal communication style. Adaptability, flexibility, positivity, the ability to see the bigger picture. Tasks vary from day to day.

This would be a Monday-Friday Day shift position, in the Outpatient Endoscopy MOB 11 Suite 220. Hours would be 8:00-4:30 p.m. The specific programs or areas of study that best fit this internship would be a nursing student or anyone entering a clinical medical role.

Must meet one of the following requirements: current CNA EMT or Paramedic certification or must take Parkviews Patient Care Foundations course at time of hire 2 years’ experience in a healthcare related field training time will be determined based on experience currently enrolled in nursing school having completed first clinical rotations if hired prior to 12/3/18 two (2) years military medical experience will be accepted. Must have current CPR at or above the Healthcare Provider level from the American Heart Association or obtain within 60 days of hire. CNA/EMT/Paramedic certification preferred or must have the equivalent of health care experience and education two (2) years previous experience in a nursing support role OR a nursing student currently enrolled in an accredited program (ASN or BSN) having completed their first clinical rotation on an extended care or inpatient nursing unit (nursing school transcripts required). Acceptable accrediting agencies are Commission on Collegiate Education in Nursing (CCNE) or Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN). If assigned to the Parkview Randallia Family Birthing Center must be bonded as a notary public within 6 months of hire. Previous experience is preferred in direct patient care through work and/or school programs. Must have good verbal and written communication skills. Must have working knowledge of computer skills and applications. Demonstrates the ability to think critically. Must be able to lift 50 pounds and assist with 100 pounds.
