Job Summary
At Prevea Health the Endoscopy Technician is responsible for assisting providers during endoscopic procedures. This position involves preparing equipment, ensuring patient safety and comfort, and maintaining the cleanliness and functionality of specialized instruments. The Endoscopy Technician supports high-quality care in a dynamic and fast-paced clinical environment.

What you will do

Assists providers and nurses during exams or procedures. Collects specimens from patients. Prepares, sterilizes, and cares for the medical instruments and equipment used during endoscopic procedures. Responsible for preparing and supporting a registered nurse or surgical technologist with surgical instruments, supplies and equipment during endoscopy and colonoscopy procedures. Prepares the room and equipment, checks charts and provides instruments and other sterile supplies. Cleans the room and equipment between procedures. Supports the direct patient care team by inspecting scopes and equipment prior to procedure; sterilization of equipment; and setting up appropriate equipment for endoscopic procedures. Ensure compliance with hospital safety protocols, infection control standards, and regulatory guidelines. Monitor and manager the overall safety of the procedure room environment.


Education Qualifications

High School Diploma and/or GED Required

Experience Qualifications

1-3 years current healthcare experience Preferred

Skills and Abilities

Basic knowledge of endoscopic equipment and procedures. Ability to work in a fast paced environment Strong attention to detail and ability to follow sterile protocols. Must display excellent teamwork Functions effectively in emergency situations and when under stress with ability to remain calm. Knows and properly applies principles of the Exposure Control Plan Proactive in recognizing and reporting safety hazards. Possess critical thinking skills to effectively solve problems Excellent verbal and written communication

Licenses and Certifications

CPR/Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers certification from approved program or Prevea sponsored program. Required
