Energy Client Engagement Specialist Reports to: Energy Program Manager Job Type: Full Time, Non-Exempt Salary: $17.50/ hr Shift: Monday- Friday 8am- 4:30pm Here is a great opportunity to be the face of the Kitsap Community Resources Energy Department and work directly with Kitsap County residents in need of energy assistance. The Energy Assistance program assists income-eligible renters and homeowners by providing financial assistance to pay their electric, natural gas, oil, propane, and wood. POSITION SUMMARY: The Client Engagement Specialist will work at the front desk in KCR's Energy Department accepting assignments from the Energy Coordinator. Duties include but are not limited to prescreening client eligibility, scheduling appointments, file maintenance, data entry, preparing reports, and attending staff meetings. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: + Report to and accepts assignments from the Energy Case Coordinator. + Maintains and reviews current state regulations and revisions pertaining to Energy Program policies, procedures and practices. + Schedules appointments and informs clients of other community services, alternative energy resources, and coordinate those services when appropriate. + Completes preliminary screening of potentially eligible clients for all Energy Programs. + Pulls clients files for scheduled appointments and verifies DSHS or other state and federal income. + Performs computer data entry of client application and energy database procedures. + Prints all computer-designed forms used by the Energy Department. + Coordinates with team to design systems to reach project goals and objectives, evaluations and necessary revisions. + Responsible for the preparation of various reports and written data. + Attends program and agency staff meetings. + Accepts other duties as assigned. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: + High School Diploma or GED plus 2.5 years' experience in the clerical field or AA Degree plus one year experience. + Valid Washington State Driver's License + Ability to pass Washington State Criminal Background Check PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: + Ability to follow instructions + Type a minimum of 60 wpm + Use 10-key + Must have legible handwriting, good organization and paperwork skills + Familiar with Windows based programs. + Must be able to work well with low-income persons, local heating vendors, and be team member + Bi-lingual is a plus ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL/MENTAL FUNTIONS: Requires reaching/stretching, intermittent sitting, twisting and bending, and ability to occasionally lift and carry up to 20 pounds. Requires accuracy, excellent communication with staff, good judgment, and the ability to remain calm and provide appropriate advice, information and training.
