About you and this role

Dow Energy & Climate is offering an exciting opportunity for an Energy & Climate System and Reporting Business Project Leader located in Houston, TX. As the Energy & Climate Systems and Reporting Business Project Leader, you will oversee the end-to-end solution strategy, design and delivery for the Energy Management Solution project related to specific business processes within the Energy & Climate business.  You will lead the delivery (in partnership with IT) an integrated solution that will meet business and functional requirements, align with business and functional strategy, as well as address or advance capabilities, needs and/or issues. You will provide ongoing governance of the process and solution that is delivered, ownership of the end-to-end process, measures of effectiveness and compliance, and approvals of deviations or exceptions. You will be the owner for the solution, with all the various responsibilities that entails (i.e. roadmap management, ongoing stakeholder engagement to identify opportunities, etc.) 

In this role, you will need to analyze and identify internal and external business challenges and recommend best practices to improve products, processes, or services. This also means that you should feel comfortable with an influential style of leadership to accomplish your goals and objectives as your stakeholder groups will be many and varied. The successful candidate will be able to work independently, with some guidance in complex situations.

It is your responsibility to be able to use sophisticated analytical thought and judgement as you work with the business process network and integrate in the Energy Management Solution. You will need to be able to lead others to solve complex problems and implement new work processes globally. Your performance impacts business direction through the development and implementation of the new business solution.

You will be part of the Global Energy & Climate Systems and Reporting Team contributing to Dow´s targets to be a leader in clean energy and ESG reporting. You will work closely with the Energy Commercial Management Team globally and will work with cross functional teams composed of IT, Tech Center and Finance leading and implementing the Energy Management Solution Project. In addition to leading the global implementation, you will be the solution SME.

Responsibilities

Accountable for the delivery and adoption of the new Energy Management Solution for Dow Energy & Climate business.Partnering with the leadership in the Energy & Climate business to define and maintain work processes aligned with the new Energy Management Solution.Working closely with the IT Project Manager and IT Solution Manager.Act as the business owner of the solution, monitoring the contract statement of work and delivery of service from the 3rd party.  Working closely with the 3rd party solution and their interface with Dow.Delivering detailed specification, strategy, design, development and testing of process improvements or changes and/or functionality within respective business process.Building and sustaining business and functional stakeholder relationships, serving as the primary liaison to stakeholders aligned with the new solution and business processes.Conducting requirements analyses, engage stakeholders in project activities and coordinate appropriate signoffs.Participating in system development and build activities associated with the new solution.Working with the Change Management team to develop key communications, preparing for process changes and driving adoption to ensure process discipline and value realization.If a Steering Team oversees the project, you must prepare content of presentation together with Project Manager, and present to the Steering Team if needed.

Qualifications

A minimum of bachelor’s degree or relevant military experience at or above a U.S. E6 or Canadian Petty Officer 2nd Class or Sergeant ranking.A minimum of 5 years of relevant working experience.A minimum requirement for this U.S. based position is the ability to work legally in the United States.  No visa sponsorship/support is available for this position, including for any type of U.S. permanent residency (green card) process.

Your Skills

A degree discipline in business, finance, environmental science, sustainability or information systems.Knowledge of Scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions or operational experience with environmental reporting within sites for a chemical company are recommended.Leadership: Prior experience in leading others to solve complex or unique problems as well as leading functional teams or implementation projects.SAP skills: SAP ECC (Proficient in SAP (purchase and sales order, invoice and vendor codes), S4/HANA or other business solutions.Business Solutions: Understanding of Energy and/or Utility business and attributes, including processes.Ability to work independently, with guidance in only the most complex situations.Business Projects: Prior Project or Program management experience with projects utilizing Agile solution delivery methodologies is preferred.
