Energy Compliance Supervisor

Job Overview:

 

This role's main responsibility is to ensure the accurate and timely execution of energy compliance filings within the portfolio. Below is a breakdown of the specific areas within the role you will focus on including; management, development, deliverable execution, benchmarking, communications and data analysis.

 

Your Responsibilities: 

Oversee and lead a team of energy data compliance professionals including their work production, timelines, and accuracy. Build out/on yearly calendar, tasks, and department deliverables. Lead and coordinate annual projects including ad-hoc data reports, energy filings, and quarterly budget reports. Conduct various associate managerial activities including performance reviews, goal planning, touchpoints and PTO requests etc. Train new members of the team on processes and effectiveness. Coach associates on career development and training needs for success in current and future roles. Ensure FirstService Energy SOP are developed for all team responsibilities and updated on an annual basis. Prioritize time based on project needs and management direction. Work with other department teams to streamline services and requests. Create key performance indicators to measure project progress. Provide status updates and feedback to managers and collaborate on improvements and integrations with other stakeholders. Ensure compliance related tickets are completed in a timely manner. Look for and lead solutions to recurring problems to minimize time spent. Create static and dynamic reports for internal and external use. Provide feature updates and feedback required for effective compliance implementation. Development of dashboards for executive views of compliance processes and statistics.

Deliverables

Ensures the timely delivery on an annual basis of Energy Reporting and Customer views for active regions and markets. Oversee Energy Label/Placard process and serve as final check to ensure. Provide compliance status updates and necessary information to be communicated.

 

Benchmarking

Lead data team on energy benchmarking process and delivery including internal and external programs. Provide support and technical expertise on EnergyStar Portfolio Manager, energy benchmarking, Utility data. Troubleshooting when problems occur related to benchmarking. Tracking and ensuring resolution of errors and violations. Ensure 100% compliance of all properties in FirstService Energy portfolio.

 

Communications

Coordinate with internal communications lead and provide external stakeholders updates regarding issues, data reviews, and timelines etc. Develop and provide webinars on Benchmarking for internal property manager groups. Attend board meetings as requested to review data and benchmarking. Manage and enforce timely response from team members on communications to internal and external stakeholders.

Analysis

Conduct data analysis checks to assess the accuracy of information before submission. Guide the team in conducting data analysis checks.

Data

Assist with compliance data entry, benchmarking, budgeting as needed to ensure deadlines for delivery are met. Ensure timely and accurate compliance data is updated in EMIS and other department programs. Ensure completeness of aggregate utility data and property profiles are maintained in Portfolio Manager. Work closely with manager on streamlining internal processes for compliance data collection, automation, data entry, and analysis. Ensure the Portfolio Manager is up to date and improvements to processes are implemented. Lead and standardize data analysis and reporting of portfolio level data looking for abnormalities.

 

 

Skills & Qualifications:

Undergraduate degree Strong people leader who can delegate tasks efficiently 5 Years Working with Energy Data (EnergyStar Portfolio Manager, Utility Bill Data etc.) Strong problem-solving skills Capable of navigating unclear projects and advancing them effectively Strong project management skills /able to lead projects including cross-functional assignments Comfortable presenting to internal and external clients Able to explain complex data to stakeholders unfamiliar with Energy Data Able to analyze data and drive clear conclusions Advanced excel skills (Formulas, Pivot Tables, Power Query, etc...) Python is a plus Knowledge of NYC LL97, DC BEPS, MA BERDO and other BPS is a plus

Compensation:

$70000 - $80000 / year
