Overview TRC is seeking an Energy Advisor / Outreach Specialist to join our team supporting energy efficiency work in SW Washington. The energy advisor will support the delivery of a large electric and gas utility energy efficiency program offered throughout the State of Oregon. TRC Companies (TRC) is a nationally known energy efficiency consultancy. TRC collaborates with clients to develop and implement market transforming programs and initiatives to promote energy efficiency, renewable energy, and green buildings in multiple market sectors across the US. In this position, we are looking for an outgoing individual preferably with energy efficiency experience who is able to engage participating utility customers in implementing energy efficiency upgrades to existing buildings. Ideally, the candidate is experienced with electric and natural gas energy systems (HVAC, boilers, foodservice equipment, etc.) to evaluate and influence the implementation of energy efficiency improvements to property owners, managers, and key influencers. The position will require a personal vehicle with mileage reimbursement for travel to meet with customers, trade ally contractors, community organizations, attend trade shows and conferences. Responsibilities Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present program information to a wide variety of customers with varying understanding of energy efficiency knowledge Use proprietary evaluation software to record existing system conditions during a property walkthrough and make energy efficiency recommendations at commercial properties Present Program recommendations to key market stakeholders and decision makers Collaborate with existing contractor network to support customer project bid acquisition Work collaboratively across program teams to assist in identifying and closing shared projects Actively engage appropriate community organizations, trade groups, and associations to promote Program offerings and services Manage account activity and project pipeline through CRM database to provide accurate project forecasting, market knowledge, customer information, and project documentation Support and collaborate with utility client outreach staff, community organizations and market stakeholders as requested Ability to effectively communicate commercial gas and electric energy efficiency focused program offerings and help customers navigate the project application process Providing day-to-day outreach to the commercial existing buildings market with a focus on serving small businesses Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a dynamic and engaging environment Qualifications Ideal candidates will have some of the following skills and experience: Associates/BS/BA degree is preferred, but not required 2+ years proven experience in working in the sales, account management, marketing, project management and/or with utilities or energy contracting firms Working knowledge of commercial gas and electric systems, utility systems, energy efficiency programs, and/or building systems Knowledge and familiarity of energy efficiency measures, sustainable building practices, and technologies and experience with utility programs A self-starter who can multi-task with a high level of organization, communications, and interpersonal skills Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and the ability to learn and operate TRC/client designed customer relationships management (CRM) systems Experience presenting at conferences and business meetings Bilingual in English/Spanish is a plus, but not required Our Mission We understand our clients’ goals, and embrace them as our own, applying creativity, experience, integrity and dedication to deliver superior solutions to the world’s energy, environment and infrastructure challenges. Compensation: In accordance with local law, the below salary range is applicable for the job and location associated with this requisition. Compensation will vary based upon experience, education, skill level, geographical location, and other compensable factors.
