Energy & Environmental Policy Analyst

Position Summary

Provides policy expertise and analytical support for energy and environmental strategy. Engages across business units, and externally, to establish effective legislative, regulatory and programmatic strategy that will achieve the company's clean energy transition goals. Supports the company's environmental reporting.

Essential Responsibilities

Supports development of state and federal policy strategies in energy and environmental policy areas affecting the company.

Prepares summaries and analyzes implications of state and federal legislation and regulatory proposals dealing with complex energy and environmental issues, including but not limited to clean air issues, renewable energy, new technology, carbon dioxide emissions and global climate change.

Provides analysis in support of regulatory strategy and regulatory filings involving environmental matters.

Coordinates development and implementation of energy and environmental public policy strategy among business units.

Provides analytical and environmental policy support.

Directs interdisciplinary process teams to address policy issues and solve problems.

Updates business area teams on federal and state policy trends.

Participates in industry group meetings and regional/national forums.

Drafts comments on significant federal and state regulatory and legislative proposals related to the environment.

Coordinates development of applications, testimony, advocacy papers and other materials designed to implement energy and environmental strategies.

Assists in evaluating and implementing energy and environmentally related sponsorship and public relations opportunities, gathering and maintaining environmental data and writing for public environmental reporting.

Supports environmental, social and governance reporting, and/or internal/external communication material relative to environmental performance.

Identifies opportunities to advance company's recognition for corporate clean energy initiatives.

Supports engagement with local, state, and federal external stakeholders on a variety of topic areas including environmental reporting, public policy trends, new technology, and greenhouse gas emissions.

Minimum Requirements

BS/BA in legal, public policy, environmental science or related field.

Minimum five years' experience in public and/or environmental policy.

Proven ability to write clearly and concisely.

Requires strong verbal and written communication skills as well as strong analytical spreadsheet skills.

Must have in-depth knowledge of energy and environmental regulatory policy issues.

Non-Bargaining

The anticipated starting base pay for this position is: $82,800.00 to $117,600.00 per year
