In this dynamic role, you will leverage your expertise to analyze, develop, and optimize our Energy Management System (EMS), Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) system, and other critical electric control center automation systems. As a key member of our Distribution Operations team, you will be responsible for researching and implementing continuous improvements, ensuring that our systems support seamless, reliable energy distribution. Key Responsibilities: + System Analysis & Development: Analyze and improve EMS, SCADA, and other electric control center automation systems to enhance performance and reliability. + Continuous Improvement: Research, develop, and implement system enhancements to optimize the operation of our energy management and control systems. + System Maintenance: Ensure effective maintenance of control systems, identifying opportunities for automation and operational improvement. + Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams to identify needs, troubleshoot issues, and enhance system capabilities. Minimum Requirements Energy/Information Technology Solutions Analyst III | Distribution Operations + Bachelors' degree in Information Technology or related field + AND five (5) years of prior relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and directly related experience. + Requires strong technical knowledge within a job area or system and basic knowledge across related technical areas. Preferred Special Skills, Knowledge or Qualifications + Knowledge of safety policies, practices and procedures; basic knowledge of computer science and/or engineering; + Generation, transmission and distribution system design, operations, and procedures; systems software and database administration; network and workstation technologies; + Technical issues related to energy management systems and applications; software, hardware and telecommunication; systems for real-time data collection and exchange. + Skill in developing and writing technical documentation; evaluating and testing emerging technologies + SQL (Structured Query Language); statistics, mechanics, and physics; technical writing; testing different types of equipment, such as flow meters; Microsoft office, including Word and Excel. + Ability to troubleshoot Windows and Linux environments; provided off hours support as part of an on-call rotation; work well on a team; works well with customers/clients; problem solve; thinks innovatively; gives high level of attention to detail Major Accountabilities 1) Applies broad technical knowledge to process, provides support with, and solves large and/or multiple software support requests within the energy management system (EMS), the supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) system, and other electric control center automation systems 2) Adapts support delivery EMS and SCADA processes and tools based on feedback 3) Participates in high level troubleshooting in all aspects of the SCADA system and lead mid-level troubleshooting 4) Develops and communicates service, implementation and delivery support procedures 5) Compiles and presents performance report results from across practices 6) Independently verifies impact of changes of moderate risk on specific technical areas and provides input into mitigation approaches 7) Migrates and deploys complex solutions 8) Suggests improvements and implements simple solutions that mitigate risks and create a more reliable and efficient electrical grid 9) Provides training and support to users 10) May manage projects Export Compliance / EEO Statement This position may require access to and/or use of information subject to control under the Department of Energy's Part 810 Regulations (10 CFR Part 810), the Export Administration Regulations (EAR) (15 CFR Parts 730 through 774), or the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) (22 CFR Chapter I, Subchapter M Part 120) (collectively, 'U.S. Export Control Laws').
