The Energy Management Systems (EMS) Installation Foreman leads the Commercial Installation Technicians. This role requires a technical leader with a proven track record of high-quality craftsmanship, effective communication, and successful leadership of commercial installations, along with a commitment to self-improvement and continuous education.

The ideal candidate excels at following and communicating instructions, with a strong emphasis on safety and adherence to company policies. The EMS Installation Foreman serves as a safety advocate and leads by example. This person is self-motivated, a team player, maintains a positive attitude, and demonstrates strong problem-solving skills. A proven attendance record and strong mechanical aptitude are essential.

 

The EMS Installation Foreman is responsible for installing, programming, testing, calibrating, operating, and repairing control systems, as well as their related software, hardware, and equipment, ensuring they operate properly and safely.

Responsibilities Plans, schedules, and develops work plans, coordinating tasks, and arranging the mobilization of crews, materials, and equipmentCompletes parts/material inventories as assigned or neededRecruits, hires, trains, manages, and mentors employees and contractorsReviews plans and blueprints, identifies potential issues, and performs on-site inspections to evaluate progressUpdates daily logs through the company’s tracking systems, including photos, weather, and detailed notesInstructs crew members on equipment operation, ensures safe work practices, and evaluates and directs subordinatesCommunicates orally and in written reports to crew leaders, supervisors, operations, and other craft personnelDevelops and maintains excellent customer relations at all levels of the businessMaintains, troubleshoots, and repairs control systems and equipmentCalibrates machine controllers and automation equipmentMonitors machine readings to ensure factors such as temperature and pressure remain within acceptable rangesInstalls control systems, including HVAC and refrigeration control systemsTests control systems and related equipmentAttends required safety training and follows all safety standardsEmphasizes the safe use of tools and machinery, provides safety training, and ensures safety rules are followedDevelops and manages project budgets, and prepares work progress reportsResolves conflicts or miscommunications quickly and amicablyCompletes assigned tasks in a safe, accurate, thorough, and alert mannerUpholds Company policies and proceduresWorks in a professional manner with managers, supervisors, coworkers, customers, and the publicOther related job duties as assigned Qualifications Excellent project management, organizational, and communication skills (written, verbal, and interpersonal)Proficient in reading schematics, work plans, and Microsoft Office (including advanced Excel skills: pivot tables, VLOOKUP, macros, formulas)Strong leadership abilities with experience in leading, supervising, and training a teamStrong awareness of safety requirements and the ability to enforce standardsMust possess a high attention to detail and display commitment to qualityStrong ability to work independently and manage multiple projects with minimal supervisionHighly dependable, results-focused, and able to prioritize effectivelyHigh energy, integrity, craftsmanship, and a positive attitudeTechnical knowledge to provide value to technicians and customersConsistently delivers high-level customer serviceCommitment to continuous education and self-improvement in the technical fieldBasic computer skills for iPad, cell phone communication, and documentationWilling to work overtime, weekends, and holidays as neededWilling to travel to assigned client sites (Monday to Friday)Must possess a valid driver’s license with a good driving recordAbility to display a professional appearance and demeanor at all timesAbility to coordinate, contribute to, and collaborate with cross-functional teamsAbility to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environmentInitiative to complete assignments and responsibilities independently

 

Education and Experience

Education and Experience:

High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s degree in a related field (e.g., Electrical Engineering, HVAC Technology, Automation) preferredMinimum of 5 years of experience in commercial installation and control systems, including at least 2 years in a supervisory or foreman roleState Licensed low voltage (Journeyman) if required by stateFamiliarity with current NEC and local codesMust possess necessary basic hand tools for electrical workProven ability to troubleshoot and repair equipment effectivelyStrong background in Energy Management Systems (EMS), HVAC systems, and automation/control systemsExperience installing electrical and control systems in commercial environmentsExperience with installation, programming, testing, and calibrating control systemsExperience in project management, including scheduling, budgeting, and team coordinationKnowledge of building codes and safety regulations, particularly for EMS, HVAC, and electrical systems Physical Requirements

Physical requirements:

Must be able to lift 50 pounds regularly, and occasionally up to 75 pounds with assistance  Must not exceed ladder ratings, ensuring safe use according to manufacturer guidelines  Capable of handling and maneuvering heavy equipment, tools, and materials during installations and repairs  Ability to safely lift, carry, and position equipment such as control panels, wiring, and components in various job site environments  Must be able to perform physical tasks that require bending, stooping, reaching, and lifting in confined spaces   Excessive pulling, kneeling, and squatting   Must be able to climb ladders multiple times   Must be able to drive for extended hours which could require up to 8-10 hours of driving time or more Must be able to operate a telephone, iPad, and company cell phone   Must be able to alternate between sitting and standing, as needed throughout the day   Continuously requires vision, hearing, twisting, and talking    Continuously requires walking, lifting, carrying, reaching, kneeling, pushing/pulling, bending, and crouching  Must be able to follow all safety protocols and procedures on jobs sites  Must be able to work on rooftops Must be able to work in both outdoor and indoor temperature environments, adapting to varying weather conditions (heat, cold, rain) and temperature extremes in unheated or non-air-conditioned spaces  Options Apply for this job onlineApplyShareEmail this job to a friendRefer Sorry the Share function is not working properly at this moment.
