We have a portfolio of complex, multi-disciplinary, multi-million, multi-year datacenter construction and lease projects underway. Within the Datacenter Construction Development (DCD) team, we are seeking a **Energy Marshal** who will oversee and assure any vendor support complies with the overall Energy Isolation Program Management on a datacenter construction campus. This role operates under the guidance of the Authorizing Energy Marshall and ensures the effective implementation of the Energy Isolation Program. You will be accountable to ensure all activities related to the energy isolation process is coordinated and executed across the assigned location(s) according to established policies and procedures. You must have a strong desire and capability to learn, grow, and develop new skills while empowering a culture of safety, security, and compliance in all aspect of DCD activities. Your understanding of the design and functionality of the DCD in support of Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) infrastructure while acting as the technical authority for on-site operations related to a large-scale mission critical MEP system, design, and functionality is critical to success. **This role is based in Charlotte, NC.** Relocation support is available, and successful candidates are required to either reside within or relocate to within 50 miles of the designated hub office. This role is eligible for onsite only (100%) [within 50 miles from Charlotte, NC]. Each day we build on our values of respect, integrity, and accountability to create a culture of inclusion where everyone can thrive at work and beyond. **Responsibilities** + **Program Foundation** : Leverage the SPS-101 Energy Isolation Standard and Guidebook as the foundation for the Energy Isolation Program across the campus and project. + **Assurance Process** : Establish and manage an Energy Isolation assurance process, addressing any gaps identified during assurance audits. Utilize the SPS-101 Energy Isolation Alignment Checklist as a guideline and participate in High-Risk Activity (HRA) planning meetings related to Energy Isolation. + **Procedure Approval** : Ensure an approval process is in place for Energy Isolation procedures and collaborate with the Authorizing Energy Marshall to develop an Energy Isolation Permit process. + **Documentation Review** : Review Scopes of Work (SoWs), Methods of Procedure (MOPs), and Scripts to identify all energy sources and determine if group or individual Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) is required. Collaborate with the Authorizing Energy Marshall to establish a centralized LOTO system for all site entities. + **Personnel Readiness** : Verify the qualifications, training, and PPE of personnel performing the work. Assign qualified alternates to ensure coverage during multi-shift operations and peak energization periods. + **Incident Expertise** : Act as a subject matter expert in Energy Isolation incident investigations and maintain authority to halt unsafe practices related to Energy Isolation. + **Program Communication** : Develop and update the Energy Isolation Program Plan, ensuring alignment with project activities, and provide clear guidance on SPS-101 program documents. + **Role and Criteria Establishment** : Confirm the presence of Authorizing and Performing Roles, and define Acceptance Criteria for the Authorizing Authority’s site Energy Isolation Plan. + **Audits and Reporting** : Conduct audits and inspections, addressing deficiencies and highlighting best practices. These requirements include but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: + Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter. **Preferred Qualifications:** + Bachelor's Degree AND 8+ years experience in engineering, product/technical program management, data analysis, or product development + OR equivalent experience. + 6+ years experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects. + 1+ year(s) experience reading and/or writing code (e.g., sample documentation, product demos) + Experience in critical environment and industry standards and practices + Ability to interpret line drawings and system redundancies to ensure design of LOTO systems is 100% effective and in compliance with Microsoft standards + Experience in the Control of Hazardous Energy in complex mission critical infrastructure + Experience with the operation and maintenance of building MEP systems. (Power distribution, lighting, grounding, fire alarm, security, life safety, including NFPA 70E, controls systems and sprinkler systems) + Understanding of electrical theory and practical application via your maintenance & operation of critical electrical equipment. (Paralleling switchgear, redundant UPS systems, DC battery strings, multi-source electrical utility switchgear, standby diesel generators, etc.) + Knowledge of construction techniques, terminology, and documentation (blueprints, electrical one-lines, construction drawings etc.) + Practical experience with building management systems and automation, controls & frameworks. Construction Project Management IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $94,600 - $183,800 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $122,000 - $200,500 per year.
