Cumming Group is currently looking for an Energy Project Manager to be based in Los Angeles, CA and/or New York, NY. The Energy Project Manager position is responsible for the delivery of energy efficiency, energy generation, energy management, and energy master plan support services. Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Overall policy, planning and technical expertise delivering energy services
Knowledge of building systems performance and solutions for reducing operational emissions
Perform field energy audits, run energy system models, and develop ASHRAE Level audit reports
Support data management processes, including collection, review, quality assurance, analysis, and data visualization
Perform energy analysis on rates, energy cost savings, energy modeling (eQuest) preferred
Identify and provide documentation for energy efficiency project opportunities contributing to Building or campus carbon emission reduction; specifically HVAC and Lighting systems
Assist with the development of equipment replacement prioritization based on equipment efficiency and current client operations
Track utility interventions, calculate, document and report savings
Manage and provide analysis energy generation or clean energy and battery storage projects
Assist with the development of electrification projects: equipment replacement; prioritization based on equipment efficiency; and current client operations
Identify energy grant and incentive opportunities, and manage grant application and funding requests
Interface with clients on schedules, meetings and issues (manage client expectations)
Collaborate with GHG analysts and contribute to climate action planning work
Contribute to decarbonization planning, energy master planning, and net zero roadmap projects
Provide education to Owner client staff on utility management and reductions strategies
Ensure that projects are delivered within the agreed upon cost, quality, schedule and profit
Perform construction management of energy projects from procurement through closeout
Anticipate potential schedule or priority delays and initiate plans for alternative actions
Lead presentations of deliverables to clients and relevant stakeholders, including preparation of presentation materials in visual formats (PPT)
Knowledge & Skills Required:
A strong understanding of how systems affect energy consumption and GHG emissions
Advanced knowledge of Excel and data management best practices
Knowledge of Energy Modelling (eQuest) required
Technical knowledge of MEP system design and operation, strong controls and instrumentation background preferred
Electrical systems experience a plus
Experience preparing Project Management Plans and fee/budget proposals
Demonstrated ability to monitor scope throughout the project and recommend adjustments when necessary
Ability to prepare and communicate cost and revenue projections
Utilize effective written and oral communication skills
Deliver quality work product by role modeling organizational core values
Consistently communicates and collaborates with team members and clients
Proactively participate in self-development to continually enhance current skills and build new skills required to excel at current role and prepare for career progression.
Demonstrate ability to be dependable, diligent, and thorough

Reliable transportation, valid driver's license, and vehicle insurance required.
Preferred Education and Experience:
Education: Bachelors degree in electrical or mechanical engineering, environmental, construction management, or related field.
Experience: 5+ years of relevant industry experience in energy project management
Preferred Certification: Certified Energy Manager (CEM), Certified Energy Auditor (CEA), other related energy and sustainability certifications
