Energy Project Manager
We are seeking an experienced Energy Project Manager to join our team, where you will play a pivotal role in supporting the implementation of Utility Energy Efficiency Programs. As the subject matter expert on Heating, Ventilation, and Cooling (HVAC) technology, you will lead junior-level engineers and oversee a team of program staff, contractors, and inspectors. The role also involves collaborating closely with Con Edison to develop and implement energy efficiency projects targeting Small Businesses & Nonprofit customers. You will assist in the design, planning, and execution of initiatives aimed at reducing energy consumption, optimizing resources, and promoting sustainable practices across various sectors. Your key responsibilities include project coordination, stakeholder engagement, and providing strategic guidance to contractors and internal teams. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: + Support the development and implementation of energy efficiency programs, including initiatives related to buildings, appliances, transportation, and industrial processes. + Collaborate with Program Managers to establish goals, timelines, and budgets for projects. + Act as a liaison between the engineering team and other departments to promote effective communication and collaboration. + Coordinate with internal teams, external vendors, and stakeholders to ensure seamless program execution. + Manage project timelines, resources, and forecasts to ensure high-quality outcomes. + Identify opportunities for improvement and recommend strategies to optimize program performance. + Develop and implement key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess the effectiveness of energy efficiency programs. + Conduct regular audits and assessments to ensure compliance with industry regulations and standards. + Collect, analyze, and interpret energy consumption and savings data to guide decision-making. + Prepare reports and presentations to communicate program progress to management and stakeholders. + Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including state agencies, utility providers, and industry partners. + Represent the organization at industry events, conferences, and meetings. + Stay informed about emerging trends and technologies in energy efficiency. + Provide mentorship and guidance to program staff and interns, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment. + Conduct training sessions to improve the skills and knowledge of the program team. Job Requirements / Qualifications: + Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or a related field). A Master's degree is preferred. + At least 5 years of experience in energy efficiency, sustainability, or a related field with a strong background in project management and program implementation. + Knowledge of New York State Clean Heat programs, NYC Local Laws 87 & 97, and HVAC rebate opportunities. + Strong analytical and data interpretation skills, with the ability to make informed decisions that drive program success. + Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of simplifying complex concepts for diverse audiences. + Proven experience in stakeholder engagement and cross-functional team collaboration. + Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, data analysis tools, and project management software. + Familiarity with energy efficiency regulations, policies, and standards at the local, state, and federal levels. + Certification as a Certified Energy Manager (CEM) or similar is a plus. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $45.67 - $58.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
