About the role

The role reports into the Director of Network Performance and in this position you will be responsible for the monitoring, forecasting, management and procurement of energy and utilities for a rapidly growing portfolio of electric vehicle charge point infrastructure.

As part of the Network Performance team you will be part of establishing Believ as the most loved Charge Point Operator through the management of its principal network cost (electricity) to achieve competitive consumer charging tariffs.

Working with colleagues across the business you will anticipate network growth and emerging patterns of charge point utilisation through the development and execution of a flexible risk management strategy; integrating opportunities for smart consumer tariffs, corporate power purchasing agreements and trading to support additional infrastructure asset as they are added to the portfolio.

MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Lead the management of utilities budgeting, procurement, consumption monitoring, forecasting and reporting.Lead the design, delivery and operation of strategies for utility metering, data collection and utilities cost governance.Establish and manage relationships with utility industry partners for the supply of energy and affiliated services including the development of strategic relationships to allow a flexible electricity purchasing strategy.Lead the development of a risk management framework, working with the senior leadership team, board and audit committee to achieve a balance of delegated authority and governance oversight.Develop, implement and operate a risk management and hedging strategy for the purchase of electricity on wholesale markets to support the infrastructure portfolio as it grows in size (number of charge points) and utilization (energy drawn from each charge point).Be a subject matter expert on energy purchasing and utilities management throughout the business, collaborating on initiatives for cost-management and consumer tariff development.Develop, implement and operate a reporting function to provide management information on energy and utilities to relevant stakeholder groups.Support (and where appropriate lead) the development of smart energy initiatives within the business involving the integration of energy generation and storage into the infrastructure portfolio.Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and excellence within the Network Performance team and across the organization.

Extensive knowledge of UK energy industry (electricity in particular) in respect to generation, distribution, supply and demand.Experience in the establishment and operation of flexible energy supply contracts, risk management strategies, energy trading.Highly proficient in the collation and analysis of complex energy data for forecasting, reporting and decision making.Strong relationship management skills to be applied in the context of utility industry partnerships, procurement and performance management.Experience in the development and implementation of strategy with the recruitment of senior leadership support and the involvement of a broad range of business stakeholders.Ability to communicate conceptually detailed and complex information clearly to stakeholders with limited prior subject knowledge.Excellent planning and time management skillsMicrosoft Office skills/experience (Outlook, Word, Excel & PowerPoint)Precise attention to detailTeam playerAbility to manage workloads and meet demanding timescalesAble to prioritise and adapt to evolving project priorities and demands
