Siemens Infrastructure is seeking an Operations Manager 2 to support our growing EPS (Energy Performance Solutions) business. In this role, you will oversee a small engineering team responsible for all engineering work related to the application planning, design, construction, operation, and maintenance of Distributed Energy Systems (DES) and related technology solutions. This team works on emerging technologies associated with the distributed generation of various renewable fuels (solar, cogeneration, etc.), battery energy storage, grid interface technologies and protocols, microgrids, and other related approaches. This position can be based out of any of our US branch locations. Work from home option is possible.
As an Energy Services Solutions Operations Manager, you will:
Oversees supervision of a small team (typically 4-8) of engineers.Manage DES project engineering and development. Provide lead technical oversight for projects executed by the DES team, including savings calculations, project cost estimates, development cost estimates, sales support, and implementation support.Supervise engineering activities, manage engineers, manage labor utilization, and coordinate with the sales team. Mentor teams through goal setting, employee review meetings, and project reviews.Participate in all required project risk reviews and sales-to-operations turnover meetings. Review engineering design to verify proper application of engineering principles, code compliance, coordination with local utility companies, adequate safety factors for costs and savings, rebate calculations, incentive calculations, and proper documentation of scopes of work.Develop engineering schedules and monitor progress to meet deadlines and budget. Determine resources needed to manage schedules.Assist the sales team in identifying and qualifying potential Distributed Energy projects. Review customer RFPs, develop solution concepts around Siemens products, determine solution costs, quantify project execution risks, attend plant walk-downs or customer meetings, and create actual proposal documents.Prepare financial models related to repayment, including Return on Investment (ROI), life cycle costs, and internal rate of return.Monitor project performance, particularly those that guarantee savings.Independently manage site visits and proposal development.Utilize financial and monthly forecasting tools and work with other team members to monitor, manage, and control costs.Maintain business best practices and ensure Limits Of Authority (LOA) and boundary conditions are adhered to.Execute, at a minimum, Monthly Project Coordination (MPC) meetings for assigned projectsYou will make an impact with these qualifications:
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering.Minimum 10 years of experience with electrical solutions such as, but not limited to, substation design, containerized electrical solutions, packaged inverters, LV and MV switchgear, MCCs, GSU and Aux Transformers, Protection Systems, Generators, ISO phase bus, generator breakers, UPS systems, bus ducts, panel boards, switchboards, VFDs, PLCs, Lithium Ion batteries, plant controls, SCADA and related equipment.Experience in electrical distribution engineering and applying grid code requirements for integrating solar PV, battery energy storage, wind farms, microgrids, conventional and stand-by generation (including paralleling), and electric vehicles charging infrastructure.Experience and demonstrated expertise with behind-the-meter or utility-scale energy storage systems.Exceptional communication skills with the ability to translate complex information for non-technical audiences.Must be 18 and possess a valid driver’s license with limited violations.Legally authorized to work in the United States continually and permanently without company sponsorship.Preferred Qualifications: A master's degree in electrical engineering is preferred; other engineering degrees will be considered.Professional Engineer license preferred.You’ll benefit from:

The actual wage may be lower or higher depending on budget, candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications, and premium geographic location.
