What You Can Expect
As our Energy Storage Engineering Intern, you will support our Renewables Engineering group which supports the technical development, design, and construction of large energy storage projects throughout North America. As the Energy Storage Engineering Intern you will gain valuable engineering experience in the renewable energy industry.
Every day in this role you will participate in a variety of tasks related to the development, implementation, and improvement of energy storage systems.
Develop a comprehensive understanding of battery storage systems, their components, integration, site engineering and construction Participate in engineering design review for utility-scale renewable energy projects (wind, solar, and energy storage) Participate in multi-discipline team meetings to further your understanding of different engineering disciplines and support development of engineering specifications Learn about various stages and technical aspects of renewable projects (Power Plant Controller (PPC) Controller, Protection Relays, Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA), Substations, Transmission, Underground Collection) Attend site visits to support design review, construction review, and commissioning activities as needed
What You’ll Bring
Currently enrolled in an accredited college or university. Must be at least a junior or senior pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in electrical engineering with a minimum GPA of 2.8
General understanding of energy storage service and applications Proficiency in MS Excel Must have excellent oral and written communication skills, and ability to think analytically, present ideas professionally, and work in project teams Ability to handle multiple assignments on a timely basis with a high degree of accuracy
Additional Details
The internship work term will be from January 2025 to May 2025 This role is eligible for our hybrid work policy Must be willing and able to comply with all ENGIE ethics and safety policies
Compensation
Salary Range: $21.00-$34.00 USD hourly
This represents the average expected pay range for a qualified candidate.
