ICF is seeking a detail-oriented, self-motivated candidate to help federal government clients implement and evolve their energy efficiency, decarbonization, and sustainability programs. This position will be based in our Reston, VA office in a hybrid work environment. Successful candidates will support the implementation of high-profile public-private partnership programs to drive energy efficiency and emissions reductions across commercial, multifamily, public, and industrial markets. They will be part of a team that builds and maintains relationships with key market actors, reviews and analyzes energy, water, waste, and emissions consumption data, develops marketing material that recognizes market leadership, and collaborates with other team members and clients to develop national and regional strategies to increase participation in energy and decarbonization programs. 

What you will be doing . . . 

Conducting outreach to build and maintain relationships with key market actors, including commercial and government building managers, industry associations, and utilities. Contributing to the development and deployment of communications, outreach, and training resources, including case studies, webinars, in-person events, and other opportunities. Serving as a source of technical assistance for program participants and maintaining detailed records in a customer relationship management system. Working directly with clients and other team members to develop local, regional, and national strategies to influence the market and increase participation in voluntary energy and decarbonization programs. Conducting partner recruitment, onboarding, and ongoing support to maximize program participation. Tracking state/local and national clean energy and climate policies that impact commercial and public sector buildings. Conducting research and analysis of energy efficiency, electrification, renewable energy, and decarbonization programs and policies. 

Minimum qualifications: 

Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline (e.g., environmental studies, public policy, science, business).   2 years relevant experience in commercial and public sector energy and sustainability programs.   

Preferred qualifications:  

Master’s degree in a related discipline (e.g., environmental studies, public policy, science, business).   4+ years relevant experience in commercial and public sector energy and sustainability programs.   Experience working with commercial or public sector buildings or for an energy efficiency vendor/service provider. Experience writing reports, articles, case studies, or other communications materials. Experience in energy and emissions benchmarking. Experience with ENERGY STAR, DOE Better Buildings, LEED, and/or other efficiency/sustainability tools and program platforms. Familiarity with the development/delivery of public-private voluntary partnership programs. Experience working with Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software systems. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Highly developed interpersonal skills and self-motivation. Excellent analytical skills. Solid personal computer skills (Microsoft applications, including Word, Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, Excel). Ability to prioritize and multi-task, and work under strict deadlines.

Pay Range - There are multiple factors that are considered in determining final pay for a position, including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and competencies that align to the specified role, geographic location, education and certifications as well as contract provisions regarding labor categories that are specific to the position.

The pay range for this position based on full-time employment is:

$66,730.00 - $113,440.00
