Energy Trading Coordinator

Hybrid Role: Must be able to come on-site periodically and reside a commutable distance from the assigned work location.

Emergency Response: Yes – Must be available to perform a primary assignment in support of DTE’s emergency response to storms or other events that impact service to our customers.

Job Summary

Supports energy trading transactions, contracts, and related administrative requirements. Processes energy trading invoices and commodity invoice reconciliations. Conducts customer account analysis and facilitates vendor inquiries. Performs accounting and related journal/recordkeeping procedures for energy trading transactions. Works with business units to address and support regulatory compliance with energy trading requirements and related documentation. Span of control: 0; individual contributor.

Key Accountabilities Performs administrative requirements for energy trading, including compiling, reconciling, and settling commodity invoices, contract items, and related documentation Establishes energy trading billing for accounts receivables and accounts payables Communicates with both internal and external customers to ensure invoice differences are resolved timely Creates and maintains energy trading databases and reporting files for customer and vendor accounts Analyzes accounting and invoicing data to identify problems and determine solutions/improvements Prepares special and routine journal entries, including trading account reconciliations Performs affiliate billing processes and procedures in compliance with regulatory requirements Utilizes continuous improvement methodologies to control costs and improve efficiency Creates a positive working environment by supporting energy trading initiatives Minimum Education & Experience Requirements This is a multi-track base requirement job; education & experience requirements can be satisfied through one of the following options: Bachelor’s degree in business-related discipline and 2 years of experience with finance, energy trading, and/or related transactional/billing administration; OR Associate degree in business-related discipline and 4 years of experience with finance, energy trading and/or related transactional/billing administration; OR High school diploma or GED and 6 years of experience with finance, energy trading, and/or related transactional/billing administration Other Qualifications

Preferred:

Experience with financial systems/platforms Experience with energy and/or environmental credits

 

Other Requirements:

Ability to effectively communicate well with others Proficient verbal, nonverbal, written, and presentation skills Ability to organize work independently and work with teams Intermediate-level skills with office technology software Ability to complete regulatory gas training as required Additional Information
