Southwire Job Description

Summary

Provide Industrial Engineering support and guidance for all Wire and Cable Manufacturing plants,

Compound Operations, and Compounding Modernization. Interface with other areas of the organization to

drive continuous improvement and work to ensure that Lean objectives are met and exceeded.

 

Description of Duties and Responsibilities

 

· Understand cause and effect of data entered in CableBuilder, SAP and MES and how these systems interact

· Understand SAP’s cost structure and work cross-functionally to ensure product costs are accurate and current

· Retrieve data from SAP and BI via queries to analyze data and make recommendations

· Lead cost reduction projects, analysis, and tracking

· Capital request write-ups, project justification and tracking

· Modernization support: Savings analysis, capacity analysis

· Production cost rationalization, development, and analysis for existing and new products

· Capacity and strategic production analysis and improvements

· Materials management support for W&C

· Production planning and ordering of raw materials for compounding

· Improve Excel tools for conveying frequently communicated data and reports

· Participate in continuous improvement, Lean events and Lean tool certification for use in W&C

· Support Compound strategy development with data analysis

 

Qualifications and Experience Requirements

· Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering required.

· 3+ years of industrial engineering experience.

· Strong knowledge and expertise of Industrial Engineering methods and concepts.

· Must have strong analytical, time management, and problem solving skills

· Must possess strong leadership skills as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

· Must have excellent software skills including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

· Work efficiently in a fast-paced office setting.

· Must be hands-on and capable of working well with limited oversight
