Participates in the planning, development, scheduling, and the performance of engineering assignments related to the design, construction, operation, and maintenance of liquefied natural gas (LNG) facilities and liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) facilities, gas distribution and pressure regulating systems, including standard projects. Provides support to ensure Eversource’s LNG and LPG facilities operate safely, reliably, in compliance with State and federal regulations, and industry best practices. Applies engineering practices as directed by other team members. Assumes supervisory on-call assignments as required. Supports values and commitment to Eversource’s mission, strategy and values.Essential Functions: Under direction, develops procedures and programs to fit objectives, conforming to industry standards, guidelines and regulations of federal, state and local authorities.Plant systems include, but are not limited to; gas pretreatment, liquefaction, boil off gas handling, cryogenic tank storage, plant utilities, firewater, low and medium voltage electrical systems and plant control systems.Develops and maintains standards, procedures, and training documents to ensure compliance with company requirements, federal, state and local regulations and codes.Coordinates training activities with customers, contractors, States, Municipalities and internal departments.Assists in the review of operations and maintenance activities to insure specification and code compliance. Ensure compliance with field procedures and the coordination with Plant Operations.Works with other Engineers and stakeholders in the development of technical documents for consistency within the group.Assists with ensuring that the design and specification of additions, modifications and replacements to equipment, meet the necessary regulatory and company standards.Develops and assists in implementing vendor led and internal training for LNG personnel to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and ensure consistent training across the LNG group. Assists plant supervision in scheduling of vendor led trainings.Identifies and assists the LNG department in the implementation of new processes and work practices as required by the Gas Business.Develops preventative maintenance practices and procedures and identifies improvements to support the Operations team.Identifies areas that require improvement in maintenance and operation procedures to maintain adherence to all applicable State and Federal regulations.Provides guidance and support to stakeholders regarding technical clarification, interpretation of code and other complex information.Assists stakeholders in the development of compliance processes and procedures.Serves as a technical liaison between Engineering and Operations.Reviews purchase requisitions, and invoices related to departmental activity.Assists in facility and gas distribution system restoration efforts during emergenciesTechnical Knowledge/Skill/Education/Licenses/Certifications:
Technical Knowledge/Skill:
Thorough knowledge of fundamental engineering disciplines, plant operation and maintenance work practices and proceduresMust have the ability to read and understand Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID’s) and follow schematic drawings.Ability to understand basic thermodynamics and cryogenic fundamentals as they relate to LNG.Knowledge of applicable governmental code and regulationsWorking knowledge of environmental requirements affecting related activities.Requires excellent organization, written and oral communication skills.Ability to apply engineering principles in technical writing.Familiarity with MS OfficeAbility to update CAD files a plusEducation:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related disciplineExperience:
Minimum of three years of related experience. Experience in gas distribution, industrial facility operation, LNG, Oil & Gas, or Power Plant experience a plus.Compensation and Benefits:
Eversource offers a competitive total rewards program. The annual salary range for this position is $92,140.00 to $102,380.00, plus incentive. Employees working in this position may be eligible to receive a rotational shift pay adder upon completion of training. Salary is commensurate with your experience. Must be available to work emergency restoration assignment as required.Must be available to travel between MA/CT/NH as necessary.This position is categorized as safety-sensitive for the purpose of drug testing. Successful applicants shall be subject to a pre-assignment drug test if the individual is currently in a non-safety sensitive position. As an employee in this position the individual shall be subject to random drug testing. A positive drug test will result in disciplinary action.Work is performed both in an office environment and the field. Related duties require sitting, standing, walking and climbing stairs, ladders and tall structures. Work may take place outdoors during inclement weather conditions, including extreme heat and cold.Must have the ability to successfully complete company sponsored training programs for LNG Plant operations, LNG Operator training, fire fighting training, security training, HAZMAT training, first aid, OSHA and company specific operator qualifications.Problem Solving & Complexity:
