What You'll Do Here
Support proposal development for engineering services and engineered equipment Prepare technical specifications to establish scope, functional design, construction codes, and project deliverables Prepare manhour estimates, risk assessments, and proposal packages deliverables as required by the management team Prepare and/or finalize Design Service Provide (DSP) specifications and requirements Prepare and/or approve technical specifications in accordance with Aecon’s operating procedures Lead constructability reviews and design verification walkdowns during design phase of EPC projects Review and accept DSP products and verify they meet contract requirements Chair and monitor design progress regularly with the DSP Visit DSP and Vendor offices to review progress and testing activities as required (Factory Acceptance Testing, for example) Act as lead interface between the customer and DSP during construction and commissioning Lead preparation of and/or approve final system turnover documents including final as-builts, closeout documents, construction completion and/or available-for-service reports Lead resolution of functional and design deficiencies opposite engineered equipment suppliers Assist PM with change request creation and approval as needed Assist PM with cost and schedule management as needed May act as Modification Team Lead (MTL) for OPG contracts May provide oversight or reviews of red-line drawings and coordination of final as-builts opposite the DSP Provide guidance and mentorship to project coordinators
What You Bring To The Team
8-10 years experience in design and construction of EPC projects Familiarity with the design and operation of nuclear power plants Working knowledge of CANDU nuclear plant systems and components Strong knowledge of industry codes and standards including but not limited to: CSA N285, N286, and N299 series as relevant for discipline ASME codes as applicable for power piping and pressure boundary work (i.e. ASME Sect. III, Class 1, Class 2, etc.) Strong knowledge of power industry codes and standards (ASME, ASTM, CSA, ESA, etc.) Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal skills Experience working directly with DSPs and trades of all disciplines Leadership and team skills Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced high-stress environment Valid P.Eng license is mandatory Project management experience will be considered an asset
