SUMMARY:
The Quality Engineer is responsible for reviewing and addressing supplier performance and initiating continual conducting internal audits to ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, policies, procedures and quality standards. Initiating and overseeing continual improvement events and corrective actions. The Quality Engineer must have experience and working knowledge with ISO 9001, AS 9100/9110/9120, FAA 14 CFR Parts 21, 43, 65, 145 and EASA, as well as US Department of Defense regulations (FARs, DLADs, DFARs, etc.). ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Participates as key team member in the measuring and monitoring aspect of supplier performance by ensuring accurate data is maintained in the Non-Conformance Reporting (NCR) system for Product Conformity and On-Time Delivery systems are in place for tracking, reporting and maintaining supplier performance; including supplier development and improvement actions. Ability to create power point presentations and hold meetings in relation to supplier performance. Issue, maintain and follow-up on internal and supplier Corrective Action Requests. Ability to validate product conformity to approved engineering drawings. Coordinate with suppliers Quality departments to disposition nonconforming product. Thorough understanding of First Article Inspection Reports in accordance with AS9102. Thorough understanding of surplus parts traceability requirements. Supports receiving, in-process, and final inspection activities and/or personnel to ensure product quality is maintained. Provides investigation and RCCA for quality escapes, aircraft damage events and safety issues for business units, as required. Assist business unit quality system managers to construct, write and revise quality/safety system related document to support business needs (ISO, AS, FAA, etc.). Participate in the planning, execution, and follow up of Internal Audits Participate in the execution and follow up of 3rd party and Customer Audits All other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Bachelor of Arts degree (B.A.) or Bachelor of Science degree (B.S.) from four-year college or university; or eight years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.FAA Inspection Authorization, FAA Designee and ASQ Certified Quality Auditor (CQA) certification desired.Minimum five years quality assurance experience or equivalent in aerospace manufacturing and/or maintenance operations required.
