Job DescriptionFocal person in managing product quality since new product introduction throughout product life cycle. Participate in new product introductions to manufacturing by ensuring readiness of quality control systems and processes, verifying product quality monitoring and test capabilities, and addressing potential quality issues early to resolve them before production begins.Monitor product and process indicators to ensure compliance to quality requirement. Analyse indicators to identify trends, deviations, or opportunities for improvement. Utilize digital tools and platforms for real-time monitoring, reporting, and quality management.Working closely with respective issue owners to manage the non-conformity or inferior quality Finished Goods based on verification of data, risk assessment & engineering judgments.Coordinating quality improvement activities to address internal factory quality incidences & follow up with process team on root cause findings, corrective actions and the improvement plan.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify, analyze, and resolve quality issues including HDD feedback. Leverage data analytics tools to interpret quality metrics, generate insights, and propose actionable improvements.Assist in the development and maintenance of quality assurance procedures, documentation, and best practices.Other tasks and assignments in sustaining & improving process control & product quality.QualificationsREQUIRED
Bachelor or Master Degree in Engineering, Data Science, Statistics or Science related field.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.PREFERRED SKILLS:
Familiarity with quality assurance methodologies (e.g., ISO standards, Six Sigma, or similar frameworks) is an added advantage.Basic knowledge of data analytics tools (e.g., Excel, Power BI, Spotfire, Python, or similar software).Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.High attention to detail and a proactive mindset in identifying and addressing potential issues.Additional InformationWestern Digital thrives on the power and potential of diversity.
