Engineer – Propulsion III

Built for multiple uses, our family of engines is powering the next generation of rockets for commercial, civil, national security and human spaceflight.

As part of a small, hardworking, and accomplished team of professionals, you will design, develop, and test propulsion valves, fluid system components, and other mechanical systems for various liquid rocket engines. This hands-on position involves you in all aspects of the design, assembly, test, and flight operations of rocket components.

Additional responsibilities include:

Lead and participate in the entire design cycle of valves and fluid system components including supporting requirements and verification definition, conceptual and detailed design, thermo-fluid modeling, structural analysis, development testing, and qualificationGenerate component and assembly drawings with the application of GD&T per ASME Y14.5Create documentation for assembly and testing of development and flight hardwareParticipate in fluid component and subsystem level testing including planning, execution, data reduction, and analysisLead and support the development of project development plans, schedules, and cost estimates across all phases of a program

Qualifications:

Minimum of a B.S. degree in engineering5+ years of direct design and development experience in fluid and mechanical components in the liquid propulsion industry, or similarProficiency in 3D CAD programs (Creo preferred)Expert in GD&T application and analysis (ASME Y14.5)Knowledge in the use of FEA analysis tools (ANSYS preferred)Detailed knowledge of fluid components such as valves, regulators, and fittingsExperience with leak and flow testing of hardware using cryogenic fluids and high-pressure gasesKnowledge of fabrication and quality control relative to various manufacturing processesWorking knowledge of materials and special processesAbility to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusionMust be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

Desired:

Familiar with ASME Y14.100 and Y14.41M.S. in an engineering discipline or higherExperience with Creo (Pro/E) Wildfire 5 or greater, Windchill 10Strong technical fundamentals in propulsion, fluid mechanics, thermodynamics, and structural analysisStrong knowledge of hardware design processes, and hardware fabrication techniques, related to valves
 

Compensation Range for:

WA applicants is $111,690.00-$156,366.00
