ENGINEER I – ADDITIVE MANUFACTURING
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES FOR THE ENGINEER I – ADDITIVE MANUFACTURING
Conduct process, product, and applications development for metals based Additive Manufacturing.Establish both material property and dimensional part requirements for form, fit and function at the customer’s ideation stage. Develop a complete manufacturing plan from powder to part, incorporating metal powder bed fusion, conventional subtractive machining and metal finishing operations.Deliver on both internal development projects as well as external, customer-driven projects in 3D fabrication.Interaction and engagement with multiple areas within the company (R&D, Production, Commercial) as well as with customers and the broader AM community on issues related to metal additive manufacturing.Perform all other duties and special projects as assigned.REQUIRED FOR THE ENGINEER I – ADDITIVE MANUFACTURING
Minimum requirement is a bachelor’s degree in manufacturing, mechanical engineering, materials science, metallurgy or related discipline from an accredited institution required.Proficiency in SolidWorks or similar 3D CAD software.Proficiency in Microsoft Office Family (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint and Project).Demonstrated proficiency in GD&T (ANSI/ASME Y14.5).Strong background in the interpretation of engineering drawings, specifications and manufacturing processes.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Ability to prioritize and focus in a dynamic team-oriented environment.Relative experience (either industrial or university) in metal based additive manufacturing technologies is required: Laser powder bed fusion; electron beam powder bed fusion; or direct energy deposition.Employment experience in an aerospace manufacturing environment (AS9100 quality system) preferredCarpenter Technology Company offers a competitive salary and a comprehensive benefits package including life, medical, dental, vision, flexible spending accounts, disability coverage, 401k with company contributions as well as many other options to employees.
