Engineer A:
Education and/or Equivalent Experience: Graduation with a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in Engineering or in a field related to the job, plus four (4) years of engineering experience acquired before and/or after licensing as a professional engineer.


Licenses and Certifications Required: Licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.) in the State of Texas; or if currently licensed in another state, must have the ability to obtain a Texas P.E. license within six (6) months of employment.

Engineer B:
Education and/or Equivalent Experience: Graduation with a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in a field related to engineering, plus six (6) years of experience in engineering acquired before and/or after licensing as a professional engineer.
Licenses and Certifications Required: Licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.) in the State of Texas; or if currently licensed in another state, must have the ability to obtain a Texas P.E. license within six (6) months of employment.

Engineer C:
Education and/or Equivalent Experience: Graduation with a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in Engineering or in a field related to the job, plus eight (8) years of engineering experience acquired before and/or after licensing as a professional engineer.
Licenses and Certifications Required: Licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.) in the State of Texas; or if currently licensed in another state, must have the ability to obtain a Texas P.E. license within six (6) months of employment.

Position Overview:
The role of Facility Engineering is to provide effective engineering, project delivery, and technical support to Austin Water’s vertical assets for water infrastructure in order to provide safe, reliable and high-quality service to our customers. This position will be responsible for overseeing contractors and consultants, review plans, establish scope, and to make recommendations using their engineering expertise for pump stations, reservoirs and water treatment plants.


This position will be filled at one of the following levels depending upon candidate qualifications: Engineer A: $39.49 to $51.34per hour Engineer B: $42.46 to $54.94 per hour Engineer C: $45.22 to $58.78 per hour

Travel: If you are selected for this position, and meet the Driver Safety Standards in the City of Austin Driver Safety Program, you may drive when necessary to multiple locations as part of your regular job duties. Otherwise, you are responsible for getting to and from these locations.
