Summary This is a public notice flyer to notify interested applicants of anticipated vacancies in the Naval Acquisition Development Program (NADP) with Naval Sea Systems Command. Responsibilities You will participate in formal courses and on-the-job training (OJT) while performing assignments that provide continuing experience in practical application of engineering theory and basic principles. You will arrange for and observe engineering tests and analyses, and will evaluate test data to report on the results. You will visit field activities and contractor sites for orientation and to obtain information. You will prepare technical reports and budget documents, evaluate bids for compliance with contract requirements, and monitor contract work performance through correspondence and personal contacts. Duties and responsibilities vary and increase according to grade level. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications In addition to the basic education requirements, applicants must meet the following minimum qualifications: FOR THE GS-09: Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Understanding and completing limited engineering or architectural designs and projects; carrying out, interpreting, and explaining basic computations and calculations; and reading, understanding, manipulating analyzing, interpreting, and conveying findings. FOR THE GS-07: Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Understanding and completing limited engineering or architectural designs and projects. OR A combination of Superior Academic Achievement (S.S.A.) and 1 year of appropriate professional experience. GS-07: Superior Academic Achievement (S.S.A.) at the baccalaureate level in an engineering program is qualifying for GS-7. OR 1 year of graduate-level education. Note, S.A.A. is based on (1) class standing, (2) grade-point average, or (3) honor society membership. Class standing -- Applicants must be in the upper third of the graduating class in the college, university, or major subdivision based on completed courses. Grade-point average (G.P.A.) -- Applicants must have a grade-point average of: 3.0 or higher out of a possible 4.0 ("B" or better) as recorded on their official transcript, or as computed based on 4 years of education, or as computed based on courses completed during the final 2 years of the curriculum; or 3.5 or higher out of a possible 4.0 ("B+" or better) based on the average of the required courses completed in the major field or the required courses in the major field completed during the final 2years of the curriculum. Election to membership in a national scholastic honor society - Applicants can be considered eligible based on membership in one of the national scholastic honor societies recognized by the Association of College Honor Societies *Transcripts from accredited colleges must be provided.
