+ A Test Equipment Engineer is responsible for the design, specification, usage procedures, maintenance, calibration requirements and selection of equivalent alternates for all tooling and test equipment used for the return to service testing of aircraft systems, components, and engine/APU for all AA fleets/ATA chapters.
**What you'll do**
**Engineer L2/L3**
+ This job entails authoring and revision control of engineering specifications, and creation of maintenance requirements and programs for tools and test equipment.
+ The position supports complex Automated Test Equipment (ATE) and Test Stands consisting of multiple resources, measuring equipment, interface equipment and control systems.
+ These systems can be computer controlled and require maintenance of software programs including writing/modifying code as needed.
+ Experience with some level of programming language (i.e Visual Basic) and general knowledge of computer systems is needed.
+ The position will involve primary design and/or modification of electrical and mechanical tools to meet American Airlines’ needs and specifications.
+ SolidWorks or other design software experience needed for development and documentation of AA designed tools/equipment.
+ Knowledge of 3D printing useful for protype of tools, etc.
+ This position will directly support maintenance customers and collaboratively work across multiple departments daily.
+ Must be able to clearly communicate, be flexible and actively listen to those we support while working on the best tooling solution for each situation.
**All you'll need for success**
**Minimum Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience**
+ B.S. Degree in Classical Electrical/Computer Engineering required from an accredited College/University.
+ Ability to perform programming revisions/adjustments in Visual Basic or similar language.
**Preferred Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience**
+ Minimum 2 years' experience as an engineer with experience in Automated Test Equipment and/or programming interface
+ The ability to handle stressful decision-making and real-time items.
+ The ability to travel and accept after-hours or weekend duties on occasion.
+ Ability to problem solve with external departments is a strong plus.
**Skills, Licenses & Certifications**
+ Knowledge of Microsoft Office to include Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
+ Excellent analytical, technical writing, problem solving, communication, planning and organizational skills
+ Ability to work under pressure
+ Must be self-motivated and disciplined in their work ethics
+ Proficient in Solidworks
