Job Description Summary
The position of Engineer is responsible for but not limited to mechanical operation of Chillers, Boilers, Cooling towers, Electrical systems, Fire alarm systems, HVAC units, Air handler’s, as well as guestroom InnComm system. Directs maintenance personnel and conducts repairs as well as preventative maintenance in the plant.Job Description
Key Job Functions
Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance and repair on mechanical equipment.Identify and troubleshoot problems, make repairs as follows: replace bearings and belts and check for proper alignment, repair fan coil units, replace piping and fittings and maintain appropriate records of preventive maintenance and repairs.Respond to requests and make the necessary repairs in a timely and courteous manner.Assist with requests to shut down water, steam and gas supplies.Change filters on HVAC and fan coil unitsAbility to understand guests’ service needs & requests.Ability to acknowledge guests’ requests in a polite mannerAbility to work all shifts as needed, including holidays, weekends, and vacation/sick relief and during hurricanesMechanical skillsAbility to work with computerized energy management systemsGood communication skills and ability to have good judgmentMay be required to perform other duties as required by engineering management.Build solid relationship with your ColleaguesTreat colleagues with respect and dignityTreats people with respect; Keeps commitments; Inspires the trust of others; Works with integrity and ethically; Upholds organizational values.Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned. Pay Range
Qualifications and Skills
A candidate for this position must possess the following applicable knowledge, skills and abilities and be able to demonstrate and provide applicable examples to support his/her competency.
Must have a minimum 2 Class Air Conditioning & Boiler Stationary Engineer’s CertificatesMinimum 5 years in school and/or hands-on work experience in buildings with complex plumbing systems.Individual should have broad, practical experience in the fields of stationary engineering, building maintenance, electrical and plumbing.Candidate must be familiar hotel systems and equipment in order to make repair within the building preferred.Education and/or Experience
Must have engineering experience and 2nd class Boilers and a 2nd class Air conditioning/Refrigeration license
Must have valid Motor Vehicle Operator’s license.
