ENGINEER AT PRIMEFLIGHT
The Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, and enhancing airport ground support equipment to meet both industry standards and client needs. This role requires strong analytical skills to assess product specifications and functionality, along with a proficiency in CAD software and engineering principles. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including production, quality assurance, and sales to ensure the engineering solutions are feasible and cost-effective. Continuous improvement initiatives and adherence to safety regulations are essential duties, as the Engineer will also be tasked with troubleshooting and resolving engineering issues that arise during manufacturing and testing phases.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Design and develop aviation refueling equipment using CAD software and engineering principles Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand customer requirements and deliver innovative solutions Conduct computational and physical testing to validate the design and functionality of products Prepare detailed engineering drawings, specifications, and documentation for manufacturing and assembly Analyze and optimize designs for improved performance, cost-effectiveness, and manufacturability Manage project timelines and resources to ensure projects are completed on schedule and within budget Troubleshoot and resolve engineering issues during product development and post-production phases Stay updated with the latest industry trends, technologies, and regulatory standards affecting aviation refueling equipment Participate in design reviews, providing constructive feedback and recommendations for improvements Work closely with the production team to ensure smooth transition from design to production Provide technical support and training to other departments such as sales, marketing, and customer service Develop test protocols and coordinate testing of prototypes and final products to ensure compliance with quality standards Utilize simulation software to predict how designs will perform under different conditions Document all phases of the engineering process, maintaining records and reports for future reference Lead and mentor junior engineers and interns, fostering a collaborative and innovative team environment May be assigned other duties as required
QUALIFICATIONS
18 years of age or older Eligible to work in the United States Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related field experience preferred 5 or more years of engineering experience is required Intermediate/Highly proficient Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook Must have a valid state-issued driver’s license with an acceptable driving record Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language, to include documents Ability to access and interpret information in print and electronically, including the use electronic devices including IPads/Tablets, Computers, and Mobile Devices Effectively communicate with colleagues and clients, both in-person and through electronic means Pass a background check and drug screen Eligibility to acquire needed credentials and clearances (FAA, TSA, Port Authority, U.S. Customs and U.S. Postal- as applicable) Airlines are 24/7, so we need our team members to be flexible to work various shifts including nights, weekends and holidays
