Position Summary:
The Jr. Controls Engineer will work as part of the Systems Integration team to design, build, test, troubleshoot, repair, and support production electro-mechanical equipment and systems in a multi-site manufacturing environment. The key focus of this position is strong troubleshooting(using RCCA) and programming skills (VB.NET, C#, Ladder Logic). Knowledge of Studio 5000, Wonderware SCADA/Historian, Labview, and electrical systems is preferred, as well as experience in a manufacturing environment.

Job Responsibilities Develop, implement, and check technical solutions and compliance documentation to ensure they are compliant with all relevant customer, regulatory, and airworthiness requirements, within agreed program, schedule, and manufacturing constraints. Identify technical problems and apply/integrate solutions. Execute and implement methods plans, toolsets and approaches that are appropriate and compliant to achieve the design and programme objectives. Support the creation of technical solutions against customer requirements as input to bids and proposals within assigned programmes/projects. Identify and assess technical risk for own work and propose mitigations within assigned programmes/projects. Support or generate test specifications/plans and/or alternate means of compliance (analysis/similarity) as required to demonstrate design solution complies with certification requirements. Develop designs compliant to cost and manufacturing requirements using appropriate techniques for design such as manufacture and assembly (DFMA) and design to cost. Create detailed design definitions of products, including interfaces, dimensions, materials, parts, manufacturing process requirements, assemblies, and tolerances which are compliant to all design requirements and objectives. Generate assigned project deliverables, documents, and reports according to the project signature authorizations. Support technical and customer reviews, including formal gate reviews, including the creation and preparation of technical data and presentations of product design. Process documentation such as concessions and non-conformances, and provide technical support by implementing solutions to address non-conforming products, designs, and compliance documentation. Perform all activities at a level of minimal supervision and support other engineers with peer-to-peer reviews. Identify improvements and support the creation of work instructions, procedures, technical manuals, and guidelines. Support operations and support manufacturing engineering team in translation of the product design and manufacturing requirements of a product in a manufacturing design of a product during prototype build and serial manufacturing, where applicable. Understand the qualification process of products, and prepare compliance documentation to internal, customer, and regulatory requirements, where applicable. 1-3 years of related experience in a manufacturing environment
Principal Accountabilities:
Manage projects that support company and customer initiatives. Interface with Engineering to ensure complete systems integration. Install and terminate control and communications wiring following industry and organization standards. Knowledge of wiring and termination standards and techniques is required. Maintain company SCADA system responsible for capturing process data Support an installed base of Automation controls with emphasis on Rockwell Automation controllers, drives, and safety hardware Assist during the design phase of new manufacturing processes to ensure that vendors are using GKN standard hardware options Integration of automation hardware/sensors with SCADA system Be an Individual contributor and drive continuous improvement as part of our team. Perform other related duties as required

SCADA / MES System software design and support utilizing Wonderware System Platform HMI Design using Rockwell FactoryTalk View Rockwell Studio 5000 Microsoft SQL
Hardware:
AB MicroLogix, CompactLogix, ControlLogix hardware platforms AB Kinetix drives AB PanelView HMIs 3 phase AC power systems, motors, drives, heaters Safety devices and circuity (Light Curtains, safety relays, etc…) Temperature, pressure, and flow sensors Familiarity with Operations and Business computing equipment.
