This position is responsible for providing engineering knowledge and expertise to support Transmission Engineering process improvement projects and the quality plan requiring the application of engineering knowledge in a safe, effective, efficient and economic accomplishment of assigned objectives.Job Description
Essential Job Functions:
Roles and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Identify and implement best practices within all Transmission Engineering (TE) disciplines for engineering quality. Communicate and standardize the best practices across all TE disciplines as appropriate.Contribute to the revision of existing and creation of new documentation related to QA/QC processes for internal and external projects.Perform periodic review of engineering quality data to ensure adherence to the engineering quality plan.Establish and implement guidelines to ensure objective and consistent scoring for all quality reviews within the engineering disciplines (SE, PCE, TLE).Serve as a product owner/Subject Matter Expert (SME) for software tools used by Transmission Engineering, including QRS, Bluebeam, DSTrack, Project Portal, MOB, ScopeBuilder etc.Provide day-to-day support (non-I.T.) to TE users and serve as TE lead for enhancement projects for TE software tools.Work with the IT department as a TE SME to define requirements, test functionality, and implement/roll out enhancements to TE software tools.Aid in the development of the Integrated Design and Construction (IDC) concept including implementation with quality reviews, issuing drawing packages, change management during construction, sending/receiving FMPs, file management, etc.Lead and develop training opportunities for development of internal and external staff; including and not limited to presentations to and mentoring of large and varying audiences.Lead and/or participate in root cause analysis and recommendation for Human Performance Improvements (HPI).*Transmission protection and control design and engineering experience highly preferred.
Minimum Requirements:
Engineer Associate: This is an entry level position for new graduates with a Bachelor's degree in Engineering in a program accredited by the Engineering Accreditation Commission of the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET).
Engineer: Has typically acquired two (2) or more years of related engineering experience along with a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering in a program accredited by the Engineering Accreditation Commission of the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET).

Acceptable alternatives are:
(1) a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (non-ABET), plus a Professional Engineers (PE) license in any state of the U.S. or
(2) a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (non-ABET) plus a Master’s degree in Engineering (focus in geotechnical engineering) from a university with an ABET accredited Bachelor’s program.
