Candidate must reside within the Tulsa, OK, OR Rogers, AR OR Shreveport, LA geographic area as will be going into office 2 days week/working remotely 3 days a week. Responsible to the assigned supervisor for performing intermediate level engineering work activities and projects requiring the application of engineering knowledge in a safe, effective, efficient and economic accomplishment of assigned objectives. **Job Description** **ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:** + Perform and review relay protection and control activities for 4kV thru 765KV electrical substation projects. + Prepare and review P&C scopes for electric substation projects. + Prepare and/or review P&C engineering and designs for electrical substation projects. + Prepare and Review Relay Setting Calculation Sheets, Setting Files and other relay setting deliverables for substation projects. + Participate in project scheduling, resource planning, and cost control for assigned projects. + Provide engineering support for project installation, commissioning, checkout and troubleshooting. + Model transmission system impedances and perform short circuit fault studies. + Perform area protection studies and recommend settings for existing and new transmission line and station protection schemes. + Review, evaluate and provide P&C comments and recommendations on transmission system planning proposals. + Coordinate with transmission customers and interconnected companies on associated protection issues. + Perform activities related to NERC P&C standards. + Contribute to development of system-wide protection standards for transmission and distribution station protection, metering and control applications. + Provide general P&C technical support, as needed, including the technical interfaces with Telecomm, Operations, Station Engineering, Transmission Planning and Project Management. **Leadership & Guidance:** Coordinates work activities of others within the work group, department, or other corporate entity as necessary to complete routine activities. Performs routine engineering activity with minimum direction from higher-level employees. Follows policies, practices, standards and rules of the company and those regulations and procedures required by external agencies. Provides training and guidance to lower-level employees. **Planning & Organization Ability:** Coordinates the development of input necessary to forecast costs for the routine projects, improvements requisitions, etc. Uses scheduling techniques (CPM, PERT, flow charts, etc.) for budget and planning activities. Initiates corrective action when project objectives are not being met. **Problem Solving & Initiative:** Resolves and initiates solutions to routine problems which usually require additional definition/clarification before analysis can begin. Demonstrates ability to identify problems that are beyond the normal routine.
