Engineer I, Broadcast
WBOY is looking for a Broadcast Engineer to join the team at north central West Virginia's top-rated TV station. Compensation package will be based on experience. Duties include: + Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair all broadcast technology and equipment at the station and transmitter sites. + Ensure station compliance with FCC rules and regulations, as well as local, state, and federal laws. + Assist in planning, implementing, and maintaining technical infrastructure, including new technologies. + Assist with coordinating fiber connectivity, production setups, A/V routing and patching, audio equipment, graphics systems, and editing systems. + Evaluate, install, and maintain IT systems critical to station operations, including media workflows. + Assist with the oversight and maintenance the station’s building infrastructure and vehicle fleet, including satellite and ENG trucks. + Ensure redundancy and reliability in critical systems for uninterrupted on-air operations. + Serve as an operational and technical resource to station staff. + Perform other duties as assigned ​ Requirements & Skills: + Technical degree in Digital Electronics, Broadcasting, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and work-related experience + Fluency in English + Excellent communication skills, both oral and written + Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record + Experience with digital electronics systems in a television broadcasting environment + Proficiency with computers, telephones, copiers, scanners, fax machines and other office equipment + Strong PC/Microsoft Office experience + Experience with fiber connectivity, production setups, A/V routing and patching, audio equipment, graphics systems and editing systems + Experience with digital transmitters, microwave equipment, and other broadcast-related equipment + Experience evaluating, selecting, installing, servicing and maintaining broadcasting industry equipment and information technology systems + Ability to meet deadlines, prioritize assignments and handle multiple tasks simultaneously Nexstar Media Group, Inc.
