Job Description Evergreen, Insight Globals Manage Service Division partners with a large local utility companys Applied Technology Services (ATS) division in their search for an Engineering Technician. ATS is responsible for engineering, testing, and analysis services and expertise across multiple disciplines to various company organizations to identify, diagnose, and solve technical problems. Services include inspections, failure analysis, performance assessments, and evaluations on a wide variety of systems and components ranging from in-service concrete to hydroelectric turbine blades to distributed generation. As an Engineer, you will be providing engineering analysis support. You will be reviewing a large volume of engineering reports related to material failure analysis of gas infrastructure (pipelines, etc.) and then supporting the analysis of the data gathered from the reports. The ideal candidate will be responsible for reviewing materials testing results from labs, understanding material chemistries, and having a solid understanding of hardening processes. While training will be provided, a basic knowledge of these areas is essential. Key Responsibilities:  Review and analyze materials testing results from various labs.  Understand and interpret material chemistries.  Apply knowledge of hardening processes to evaluate material performance.  Collaborate with team members to ensure accurate and reliable test results. Skills and Requirements Basic understanding of materials testing and chemistry.  Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.  Ability to work independently and as part of a team.  Excellent communication skills.  Bachelors degree in Mechanical, Civil Engineering (Materials Science preferred) Experienced working with Adobe/PDF files, excel for tracking, filtering reports, etc. Detail oriented & Organized Excellent communication skills both verbal and written Preferred:  Experience in materials testing and analysis.  Familiarity with lab testing procedures and equipment.  Experience/knowledge of utility gas pipelines/corrosions, etc.  Experience/knowledge of GIS and/or SAP Work Schedule:  In-office presence in San Ramon once per week preferred.
