Java Software Engineer

-Digital Banking

We are building a banking platform that enables teams to create products at scale and

power digitals channels to deliver compelling experiences in a dramatically faster

fashion. As an Engineer, you will be responsible for building this cutting-edge

technology framework that facilitates developer productivity without compromising on

quality at enterprise scale.

your depth of knowledge and expertise to all aspects of the software development

lifecycle, as well as partner continuously with your many stakeholders daily to stay

Our mission is to accelerate the pace of financial innovation and build new financial

products for American Express. Our platform streamlines the process of launching and

iterating financial products.

Responsibilities:

• Lead the solution design and implementation of core platform features

• API Design and Implementation

• Provide Operational support with building platform monitoring

tools/dashboards, ad hoc reports

• Defect Fixes, Performance Testing, Endurance testing

Qualifications:

• Overall 8+ years of developing internet-scale solution development primarily

using Java, Spring Boot and no-sql databases

• Must have demonstrated proficiency and experience in the following tools and

technologies:

o Java 8 (Lambdas, Streams, Completable Future, optional, generics)

o Spring boot (webflux , Reactor 3), spring-data, REST

o Java functional and reactive programming

o Test Driven Development

o Asynchronous Reactive Micro services utilizing Vert.x o REST APIs using Spring Boot 2.0 (reactive) and skilled in Open API

(swagger) specification

o Good knowledge on either MongoDB or Cassandra is must

o Designing database schemas, index design, optimizations for query

tuning

o Working knowledge of cloud technologies (eg. docker, kubernetes,

jaeger , opentracing, prometheus)

o Modern software engineering tools: git workflows, gradle, load testing

tools, mock frameworks

o Working in an environment which includes modern web frameworks and

complex transaction processing systems leveraging a broad set of

technology stacks

o Build fault-tolerant, scalable solutions that are performed at a global

enterprise scale.

o Good knowledge on microservices and event driven architectures .

o Good knowledge of messaging systems like Kafka, mq
