Job Description:

Process Engineer supporting manufacturing and test operations and equipment used to produce high reliability quartz crystal resonators and oscillators for military and space applications while driving throughput, scrap, and yield improvement activities.   

Responsibilities:

Develop, Implement, Maintain and ImproveProcess and Test EquipmentManufacturing and Test ProcessesFixtures and ToolingDevelop and update documents to include:Process instructionsEquipment operation instructionsFixture and tool drawingsDaily yield monitoring with root cause analysis of failures and implementation of corrective actionsActive involvement in weekly cross functional team meetings to:Drive yield improvementsReduce scrapMaintain production schedules and deliverablesInsure safety and work place organization through 6S activitiesEliminate capacity constraintsImprove production efficienciesSupport New Product Introduction (NPI) to insure manufacturabilityProvide training to production operators/technicians

Requirements/Qualifications:

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Physics or Materials Science plus 1 year of experience supporting manufacturing operations, or equivalent combination of education and experienceHigh proficiency in Microsoft Office ExcelUnderstanding and prior use of statistical analysis of dataUnderstanding of lean manufacturing conceptsPrior experience leading improvement or development projectsEffective verbal and written communication skills with all individuals in the organizational structureAbility to manage multiple responsibilities with changing schedules and priorities

Desired Qualifications:

Prior experience developing technical documentation (SOP’s, work instructions, etc)Prior design, construction or manufacturing support of quartz crystal resonatorsExperience with cryogenic and turbomolecular vacuum pump systemsPLC programmingPrior experience with evaporative deposition processes and equipmentPrior utilization of statistical software such as Minitab or WINSPC
