The Mission
The Materials & Structural Analysis Division (MSD) at TMO is responsible for selling and servicing TMO products globally. MSD serves as the main point of contact for potential and existing customers, offering a variety of valuable products and services to ensure customer's satisfaction.
The Position
The Field Service Engineer is responsible for performing the on-site installation, servicing and repair of complex equipment and systems. Investigates and approves operational quality of system equipment. Guides customers in the operation and maintenance of the system. Serves as company liaison with customer on administrative and technical matters for assigned projects. Conducts on-site installations of the full range of TMO systems and their associated options.
Responsibilities and work include:
Perform on-site installation of complex equipment and follow testing procedures to ensure accurate functioning.Conduct on-site scheduled planned maintenance visitsProvide fixing and repair support for customers and other field service personnelCultivate and develop positive working relationships with customers, system users and company personnelTravel, often on short notice, to customer sites to resolve problems or support other field service personnelComplete and submit field service reportsProvide training for customers and users on system maintenanceProvide feedback to product quality teamsProvide appropriate input in writing updating and correcting various TMO system documentationProvide feedback for various reports including identifying and isolating remarkable problems with systemAct as a subject expert and resource for trainingThe Requirements
This position is ideal for an experienced service engineer wanting to be involved with a dynamic team and exposed to a constant variety of customer application areas. The successful candidate will possess the following combination of education and experience:
Typically requires a University degree or equivalent experience in electronic system solvingTypically requires 2-7 years hands on technical experience installing, fixing, repairing and calibrating complex analysis tools such as SEM, TEM, FIB or similar systems.Experience solving and repairing ultra high vacuum and high voltage systems is highly desired.Ability to deal effectively with customersExcellent interpersonal communication skillsProven track record to solving complex systems and subsystems down to component levelLiterate in MS DOS and Windows software environmentsAble to read and interpret schematics
