You will work on the Fly-by-Wire (FBW) team within the Flight Controls Department. Your focus is on design of the flight control system for our next generation spaceship. Additionally, you will work on integrating system components, troubleshooting system issues, and developing test capabilities. The responsibilities span the entire lifecycle, from conceptual design to flight tests and commercial operations. The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of experience in fly-by-wire flight control system development, integration, or test.
Responsibilities
Support the design fault-tolerant Fly-by-Wire Flight Control system architecture, modes, and behavior.Under direction of the FBW lead, collaborate with safety to support the development of the monitor architecture. Tune monitor filters, thresholds, and persistences using analysis, simulation, and test.Support development of system Built-in-Test (BIT).Review lab and flight test data to identify system issues.Under direction of the FBW lead, determine root cause of system issues and propose corrective actions.Perform system integration of components.
Required Skills and Experience
Must have a B.S. or M.S. in an Engineering discipline from an accredited university.Required Experience:5 years with B.S. in engineering3 years with M.S. in engineering0 years with PhD in engineering2 years of experience relevant to fly-by-wire flight control system development, integration, or test.
Preferred Skills and Experience
Hands-on experience testing/troubleshooting electronics, electromechanical systems, and software.Experience with Fly-by-Wire systems including fault-tolerant architectures.Knowledge of aircraft flight control system operations, flight test or pilot experience preferred.Understanding of systems engineering and design assurance processes for safety critical systems such as ARP-4754, DO-178, and / or DO-254.Data analysis using MATLAB.Modeling, simulation, and analysis of flight controls using MATLAB and Simulink.Python programming.LabVIEW programing.Excellent written and verbal communication skillsThe annual U.S. base salary range for this full-time position is $85,900.00–$131,050.00. The base pay actually offered will vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, location, and experience and take into account internal equity. Other forms of pay (e.g., bonus or long term incentive) may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and other benefits, dependent on the position offered.
