**Engineer II – Healthcare Data**
**Location:** This position will work a hybrid model (remote and in office one day per week). Ideal candidates will live within 50 miles of one of our Pulse Point locations in Wilmington, DE or Newton, MA.
The **Engineer II – Healthcare Data** will be responsible for end-to-end application, system development and maintenance on medium or semi complex technology platforms within assigned client group, business unit or corporate department. Will work within a DevOps environment with most of the position responsibilities revolving around process and operational monitoring and troubleshooting.
**How you will make an impact:**
+ Monitors and performs data extraction, data loads, data extract generation, data extract transfers as well as periodic data analysis and/or data modification.
+ Codes and maintains complex components of information systems.
+ Develops and maintains relationships with business customers to better understand business requirements.
+ Manages data analysis and classification of complex change requests and identifies and documents possible enhancements.
+ Participates in developing data request/modification scope and objectives as well as preparing functional and/or technical specifications.
+ Analyzes and profiles source data to understand patterns and relationships.
+ Develops and automates ETL processes to integrate data sources of interest into the Data Warehouse/Snowflake.
+ Maintains and enhances the existing ETL processes to keep the Data Warehouse updated on a regular basis.
+ Investigates, troubleshoots, and corrects data and user related system errors and ensures data integrity.
+ Documents the end-to-end ETL process and update data dictionary.
+ Defines appropriate testing methods to ensure results conform to requirements and design.
+ Ensures all applicable SDLC and testing processes are followed.
+ Participates in developing application scope and objectives and preparing functional and/or technical specifications.
+ Partners with designers and other web team members to better understand and apply the right marketing focused content.
+ Develops and performs system testing and fixes defects identified during testing and re-executes unit tests to validate results.
+ Participates in integrating activities with other IT departments for successful implementation and support of project efforts.
+ Develops a general understanding of how the work fits into the larger project and identifies problems or issues in requirements.
+ Provides on call support and monitors the system for semi-complex issues as needed.
+ Facilitates small group design sessions or code reviews and participates in vendor evaluation.
+ Involves some development work with the Teradata and/or Snowflake environment.
**Minimum Requirements:**
Requires an BA/BS degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or related field of study and a minimum of 1 year experience on one platform; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.
**Preferred Skills, Capabilities and Experiences:**
+ Expert SQL skills strongly preferred.
+ Experience within a DEVOPS environment following SDLC principles strongly preferred.
+ Proficient working with large size data warehouses on relational databases such as Teradata, SQL server or Snowflake strongly preferred.
+ Knowledge of Snowflake and/or AWS strongly preferred.
+ 2-4 years of experience with technical requirements strongly preferred.
+ Strong analytical skills, organizational skills, attention to detail, and excellent verbal and written communication skills strongly preferred.
+ Knowledge of Agile/DevOps/SDLC process strongly preferred.
+ Experience with ETL tools/processes strongly preferred.
+ Experience with data analytics strongly preferred.
+ Experience with Teradata tools and utilities including FastLoad, FastExport and BTEQ preferred.
+ Experience with writing shell scripts preferred.
+ Experience with data load automation preferred.
+ Experience using Atlassian tools such as Bitbucket, JIRA and Confluence preferred.
+ Knowledge of healthcare domain preferred.
