EchoStar has an exciting opportunity for an Engineer II - Customer Networks in our Hughes Network Systems division. This position will be located at our office in Germantown, MD.​

Responsibilities:​

Provide technical support to manage large service provider networkInstall, configure, maintain network services, equipment, and devicesDocument network problems and resolution for future referenceProvide clear technical documentation and written procedures to ensure other members of the support organization can assist in monitoring, troubleshooting, and changes that are needed in complex customer environmentsRun network applications testing, and may also include running performance testsRequires monitoring and troubleshooting of platform and OS based problems, network infrastructure and connectivity issues.Provide escalation support for other support organizationsBe willing to be part of the on-call rotation and able to work as a part of the off-hours support on a regular basis.

Basic Requirements:   ​

Bachelor's degree in Network Security, Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related technical field ​3+ years' experience in Network Engineering​​

Preferred Qualifications:​​

Master's degree in Computer Science or Electrical EngineeringTechnical knowledge of common routing protocols (OSPF, ISIS, BGP etc.), IPv6, VPN etc. across a large networkProfessional level of hand-on experience with networking hardware (e.g. Cisco, Aruba Fortinet etc.)Knowledgeable in configuration management tools such as Ansible and proven experience with PERL or Python to support developing scriptsExperience with Cloud Computing platforms (e.g., Amazon AWS, Google Compute Engine) is a plusGood knowledge of data communication concepts and technologies is requiredGood customer service and communications skills (written and oral) are requiredAdaptable and willing to learn new technologies.Must have the ability to effectively multi-taskKnowledge of Cisco ACI/APIC, VMWare products is a plusCertifications like CCNA is a plus.

Compensation Range

Annual Salary: $78,500.00 - $98,000.00
