The Role

 The role will be on site: Location:  Herndon, VA 

The Main Responsibilities Interpret and report on network anomalies to the team, management and customerEscalate for resolution of network anomaliesAvailable to submit daily network status report prior to 0700 each business daySubmit after action reports to management and customer as requiredProvide pro-active network monitoring of potential jeopardy situations to the network or circuits using Telenium and other Network Management SystemsDevelop and maintain availability metrics for SONET and Wavelength servicesPresent network and circuit updates at regular meetingsProvide updates and feedback to management and the customerAssist with new proposalsDevelop and maintain standard operating proceduresMentor team members on Operations and Maintenance (O&M) processes and proceduresUnderstands and adheres to company policies and practicesWhat We Look For in a Candidate  Demonstrated experience with SONET based, metro fiber networks, next-generation DWDM systems  and IP based systemsPrevious experience with broadband circuit maintenance/restoration, provisioning databases and circuit activations preferredAbility to relate technical issues to management and Government personnelPrior experience with Infinera, Ciena, suite of optical and Layer 2 network equipment and network management systemsPrevious experience with Government networks and customers preferredPrevious experience with TIRKS preferredPrevious experience with Lumen and commercial applications a plusPrevious experience with Telenium and Network Management Systems for identifying and monitoring network anomalies preferredAbility to interface in a professional manner with management and customer is essentialAssociate degree in Engineering, Electronics, Software, or Networks preferred; or a related technical or vocational education or equivalent experienceSeven or more years applicable work experienceCurrent Single Scope Background Investigation preferredUS Citizenship requiredCompensation

This information reflects the anticipated base salary range for this position based on current national data. Minimums and maximums may vary based on location. Individual pay is based on skills, experience and other relevant factors.

Location Based Pay Ranges:
$73,013 - $97,350 in these states: VA.
