ZF Chassis Systems Duncan, LLC has a job opening for the position of Engineer II – Supplier Quality based out of its location in Duncan, SC.

Job Duties: Responsible to perform supplier-related activities affecting plant quality; Team with Purchasing Dept. to develop suppliers through interviews, plant visits, & planning meetings; Participate on APQP teams to launch products per ZF SQE Structure, to include supplier development, internal & supplier-related documentation, gaging requirements (e.g., Run @ Rates, PPAP runoffs); Survey supplier facilities & manufacturing process to determine adequacy/capability of quality control & ability to comply with specifications; Ensure compliance with Production Quality Management Systems & Group Directives; Perform launch activities & monitor supplier launch quality activities per APQP/PPAP guidelines; Facilitate change management, inclu. monitor & support approval process through ENGIS of supplier PPAPs for engineering changes; Track supplier KPIs & rating system, activating corrective actions as needed; Ensure Safety, Processes & Equipment & budgets are within standards & requirements; Initiate 8D’s to resolve nonconformance, delivery, warranty &/or other issues, coordinating with QE &/or supplier for timely closure & effectiveness; Interface with Quality Engineers, inspectors, production associates, & suppliers to resolve customer complaints from supplier-related quality problems; Participate in Purchasing/SQE meetings for planning, reaching objectives, & review of Supplier Quality Assurance activities, results & policies; and Oversee inspection of purchased direct materials, supporting process/disposition of supplier non-conformances. A hybrid (in-office and telecommute) work schedule is available. Position requires up to 50% travel to domestic customer sites (e.g., to perform product installations/demonstration) and supplier sites in Mexico (e.g., to audit supply quality, PPAP, & capacity verifications).

Requirements:  Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Business Administration, or closely related field, plus 2 years of experience in Quality Engineering, Supplier Quality Engineering, or related occupations, and demonstrated experience with dimensional and material test equipment.
