Engineer III

JT4, LLC provides engineering and technical support to multiple western test ranges for the U.S. Air Force, Space Force, and Navy under the Joint Range Technical Services Contract, better known as J-Tech II. JT4 develops and maintains realistic, integrated test and training environments and prepares our nation's war-fighting aircraft, weapons systems, and aircrews for today's missions and tomorrow's global challenges.

JOB SUMMARY - ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/DUTIES

May support projects as a technical advisor responsible for a broad program involving development, scheduling, project management, and installation of systems.

Determines test objectives, instrumentation, and data requirements; writes test planning documents; schedules program activities; plans and conducts test missions; analyzes resultant data; and documents results in test reports, statistical evaluations, and briefing presentations. Directs interface with internal and external customers at all levels; acts as liaison for test activities, design reviews, and technical working group meetings to comply with requirements and specifications. Coordinates and works closely with other engineering, logistics, financial, and program management disciplines to define system specifications and requirements. Verifies and complies with engineering documentation standards and test procedures. Prepares, delivers, and submits technical papers and performs engineering studies. Supports development of technical proposals and provides comments on the technical content and level of effort of the proposed scope of work. Maintains technical project responsibility for assigned tasks and advises management of progress in support of the technical and administrative direction of project operations. Conducts site visits and experimental investigations and analyzes engineering problems, proposes solutions and alternatives, and provides recommendations. Develops, interprets, and implements technical and administrative operating policies and procedures. Performs other position-related duties and assignments as directed.

RANGE POSITION DESCRIPTION

Provide support to government engineering team in test strategy development in concert with program office focal points. Develop/assist with pre-CDR test planning processes and documents. Provide assessments of pre-CDR test planning processes and documents. Advocate for and defend government flight test requirements in forums with other testers, program office, and contractor members. Support primary author of a wide variety of flight test planning, execution, analysis, and reporting documents, as well as analysis tool development, handbook, process development Have P&FQ test and evaluation engineering experience to include envelope expansion, air data, performance, flying qualities, and flight controls.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Secret Clearance 3-4 years of demonstration of Performance and Flying Qualities (P&FQ) EMD engineering in support of multiple flight test programs.

REQUIREMENTS - EDUCATION, TECHNICAL, AND WORK EXPERIENCE

The incumbent must have a Bachelor of Science in engineering from an ABET-accredited academic institution and 4 years of related engineering experience, or have an accredited Master of Science in engineering with at least 2 years of related engineering experience, or have an accredited doctoral degree in engineering. The incumbent must have mastery of concepts, principles, and practices of engineering that enables the employee to serve as a technical authority on projects relating to the specific programs. The position requires knowledge and skill sufficient to apply the latest developments in engineering to solve problems in the specialty area along with excellent communication and analytical skills. The incumbent must have a working knowledge of computer systems and computer-based engineering tools and possess planning/organizing skills. The position may require the ability to investigate, troubleshoot, and design solutions to problems in operational hardware and software.

The incumbent must possess a valid, state-issued driver's license. The incumbent must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance up to Top Secret with special access. Must be a U.S. citizen.

SALARY

The expected salary range for this position is $114,846 to $140,000 annually.

WORKING CONDITIONS

Work is performed in a typical office environment with no unusual hazards. There is occasional lifting up to 20 pounds, constant sitting while using the computer terminal, constant use of sight abilities while reviewing documents, constant use of speech/hearing abilities for communication, and constant mental alertness. The incumbent must possess planning/organizing skills and must be able to work under deadlines.
