Engineer III
General Atomics Aeronautical Systems, Inc. (GA-ASI), an affiliate of General Atomics, is a world leader in proven, reliable remotely piloted aircraft and tactical reconnaissance radars, as well as advanced high-resolution surveillance systems.

This position is for a mid-level engineer in the USAF Lead Off Hitter Development group. The candidate will, under limited direction, work with other functional engineering groups integrating software capabilities for the MQ-9A Unmanned Air Vehicle (UAV) System, including Ground Control Station and Training Systems. In this role, the candidate will work individually and as part of a team to accomplish the given project objectives. Applicant must be able to effectively communicate with all functional engineering departments, all program management specialties, external customers, sub-contractors, and vendors.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Initiate the planning of engineering projectsDevelop innovative designs or modifications to meet project goalsCommunicate and coordinate with other engineering departments (safety, flight technologies, systems, software, quality etc) to complete tasks in accordance with project requirementsApply technical knowledge to analyze, investigate and resolve assigned engineering problemsResolve conflicting design/development requirements, difficult coordination requirements, and special material requirementsPerform functional testing and troubleshooting of equipment and systems in assigned area by utilizing standard engineering and scientific principlesObtain and analyze test data and document findingsRecommend solutions to engineering problems based upon investigation findings, test data, and timelinesRepresent the organization as the prime technical contact on small contracts or single component projects in assigned area of expertiseMake technical presentations to internal staff and customer representatives, as necessaryMaintain strict confidentiality of sensitive informationPerform other duties as assignedResponsible for observing all laws, regulations and other applicable obligations wherever and whenever business is conducted on behalf of the Company Expected to work in a safe manner in accordance with established operating procedures and practices
